Very interesting place. Not part of Hadrian's Wall but the most northerly town in the Roman Empire.
Has a small but interesting museum to walk through before entrance to the ruins.
A self guided audio tour is included with the admission. Coffee is available in the gift shop area. Toilet was spotlessly clean. Parking plenty full but we were there early morning, on a weekday.
Overall worth it. Takes a couple of hours.

Very well presented Roman site and museum with some particularly lovely carved figures. The site has some unusual exhibits i.e. Roman walls that are hump-backed and part of a vertical wall. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Larger ruins than I expected. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and everyone very friendly.

Very interesting with lots of Roman artefacts. Good audio tour and quite impressive roman remains with buildings and the main road running through the town. As per usual with English Heritage, lovely helpful staff

Wonderful site with some really unusual features. In a lovely setting with a modern village to explore nearby too. The museum is small but very well equipped. Not just the lovely items but a clever use of traditional curation, digital media and 3d printing. Very friendly and helpful staff and a most excellent Roman mug. Bit easily impressed but here I was. Will be back. Don't hesitate, go.

We love this place, a very peaceful, beautiful site, with plenty of space for a picnic. Staff always a pleasure, friendly and helpful. Museum very good, and shop more than adequate, - although not a full day visit, the Roman buffs have plenty to look at. Some of the best preserved granaries anywhere.

Very helpful staff, lovely museum and fascinating information. If you get the chance to go on the free guided tour, definitely go as you find out so many more amazing facts!
