Imposing castle ruins said to date back to the 1400’s. Sits on a promontory in to Loch Assynt with nice views across the loch to the mountain of Quinag in the distance. Several information boards in the small car park which needs the pot holes filled in. A walk of about 500 meters from the car park to the castle itself. Well worth a visit.

Family fun. Easiest access ever - just on the road. Rocky beach on one side and sandy beach on the other. Ruins are beautiful and the scenery is breathtaking. There's a small waterfall on the other side of the road - was fantastic to explore the area with kids (toddler and teen). Especially if you are lucky with the Scottish weather :)

Leider ist von diesem Castle nicht mehr allzu viel erhalten geblieben. Inmitten einer malerischen Landschaft und umgeben von einem See muss es damals ein traumhafter Ort zum Leben gewesen sein. Heute ist es immerhin eine beeindruckende (weil seltene) Sehenswürdigkeit. Mit etwas Glück lassen sich hier auch diverse Tiere beobachten.
