We were searching for a South Indian restaurant that has something new to offer and we found Cochin Harbour. It’s pocket friendly and the dishes are not the normal ones. They add a twist to everything served. I loved the place and I will visit it more often to get a chance to try out all the dishes. The service is amazing. The dishes are unique. Highly recommended to try.

I used to come here all the time. Their kanji is super tasty but today I tried paal konch and it was so good! You guys have to try it with paal appam, and the paal appam it's was so soft and fluffy. It's like a party in my mouth!
Trust me, your taste buds will thank you.

Outstanding. We came on the recommendation of a friend and we’re not disappointed at all. The seafood bucket is fantastic (taste and value), fried prawns were great and lemon soda wonderful also. Only mild detractor was loud music, which is why I took one star off on atmosphere. But definitely a tiny detail I would overlook in favor of the AMAZING seafood. Definitely we’ll be back and bring friends.

We visited Cochin Harbour for the first time and found it to be a cozy place, maintained well and a wonderful, approachable staff. We ordered a variety of dishes, kaayal kootam (seafood bucket), dynamite prawns, karimeen pollichathu, parathas and mojitos. Seafood was fresh and had a clean taste, which I particularly appreciated as I am quite particular about the taste of seafood and we all enjoyed the dishes. Kaayal kootam had a generous amount of gravy, which somewhat overshadowed the other items in the dish, and we conveyed this feedback to Ranjith, who provided excellent service and suggestions throughout our dining experience. Chef Avinash ensured that all the dishes were prepared with utmost freshness and goodness.

Tried chef special spicy chicken biriyani, it wasn’t spicy but tasted good (takes 10-15mins to get since it’s freshly prepared). Their Kappa Kanji was too good (friend’s comment).
Atmosphere and Staffs are good and helpful. Reading the reviews now and understood I must’ve tried sea food and it’s their best.

I tried the restaurant's seafood bucket for dinner. Firstly, the seafood bucket itself was a mixed bag. The flavors were quite spicy, which may not suit everyone's palate. Additionally, the dish seemed to have an excess of curry, overpowering the taste of the main seafood items. This imbalance negatively affected the overall enjoyment of the meal.

Pricing was average considering the variety of seafood and the quantity.

Moving on to the beverages, I ordered a "Passion Fruit" mojito drink. Unfortunately, the drink fell short of expectations. The syrup content was excessive, resulting in an artificial and overly sweet taste. It would have been better if the balance of flavors had been more carefully managed.

Limited space in the restaurant may be a concern during peak hours or for privacy

Overall, I rate my experience 3 out of 5, with potential for improvement in the future.

Serious food lovers hunt in Karama

I’m a foodie but not a blogger, try to explore different cuisines & strict when it comes to quality bxz of my age & acidity. This review is after eating in this restaurant for numerous times for about a year. I usually feel word of mouth through known people is genuine, but this time I want to write a review (overall my 3rd review in google) to support their restaurant. As per Google, 1st time or 10th time comer both reviews are treated as same, but practically there is huge difference and I have been here for at least 25 times. Every time I come and eat here, I love quality & freshness of food and importantly it has never bothered my stomach after hours. Yes I don’t believe in “Cheap & Best” rather “Best Yet Affordable (BYA)” is what I believe and here it is been served.

I have tried numerous dishes and certain favorites are Sea Food Bucket (BYA), Rowdy chicken, Grilled chicken, Malabar fried prawns, etc,. My 8 yrs old son’s all time favorite is Prawns Paal Konju (BYA). I love Kanji set provided here (BYA) with numerous sides.

I learned thru a radio show last week that owner of this restaurant was an Executive Chef in a 5 star hotel and hence his standards for food preparation & process are high. We cannot eat in 5 star hotel everyday ???? but we can choose a place where the 5 star standards are known & practiced. I believe cooking food is good to be backed by facts of science and put into practice in food preparation. This is one-of-its-kind & unique place in Karama and still in the category of “Best Yet Affordable”!

Can call it a hidden gem for the fish dishes.Paal konchu ( prawns in coconut gravy) heavily recommended. Kappa ( tapioca) with chilli side was amazing. Had tried their Rowdy chicken ???? and other beef dishes like beef fry and varattiyathu which I felt was only slightly above average. They are famous for samudra sadya( Kerala meal with many types of fishes) but haven't tried yet. Kanji also luks highly promising.
Now the place is slightly congested with very few seating but once you are in you should be ok .It is clean. now for the price part the shop has to do some rethinking. The price for fish tawa( medium sized seabass) was around 60 Aed and the pal konju was 68 AED which is on the higher side even if u compare with bigger branded Kerala restaurant and the quantity doesn't justify that. I wish that part to be looked into.
