After a lot of planning and scouting for bakeries to pull off a super simple birthday shocker for my younger sister, it all paid off greatly, Alhamdullilah! . It’s not easy to surprise someone when both of y’all are at home all the time, nerve wracking right there. I am quite hesitant when it comes to trying out new bakeries but this wasn’t the case with a new found bakery I came across by chance on Instagram, @douartdxb has beautifully done cakes, it was a tough choice between our usual chocolate comfort or getting out of our zone and ordering a berry based cake. Had to include some fairy lights and the house lamps all from @ikeauae , with a quick- last minute cake topper fix that our Dad helped print and cut. ‘Chocolate Berry Delight’: we all absolutely loved this cake, we have leftovers and we still talk about it, so good! . A moist(literally) chocolate cake layered with berry infused cream cheese frosting topped with fresh berries and Belgian chocolate sauce. The cream cheese frosting was out of this world, I usually leave the frostings to last but no chance here, had to start with it first, the slight tartness from the cheese and the sharpness from the berries mellowed out with the sweetness from the dense chocolate cake was sweet tooth heaven right here. The cake was elegantly presented, no cake crumbs falling out as you cut in(a big bonus), it tastes even better when cold, not too sweet and they used fresh berries. The birthday girl fell in love with it at first sight, a decadence that was worth it! . A big THANK YOU for delivering it on time and making Her day even better.
