The Venice of Arabia at night. The old traditional baits ferry people across the creek. Lovely to visit and see the old areas of Dubai. Vibrant atmosphere, specially at night with the shops in the old souk, with narrow passages, old heritage building etc. The ferry ride across the creek costing one dirham is also a must for anyone visiting. A hive of activity in sharp contrast to what people know and associate as Dubai.

They charge one 1 Dirham to transport from Bur Dubai to Deira. One should definitely try the Abra transport system. I really enjoyed the water flow and the scenic buildings.

Bur Dubai is a must go place if you really want to know how Dubai became 'The Dubai'. You can talk to locals and people who are here from years and know the history of Dubai.
