If I could give no stars then I would! Absolutely appalled by the staff in this library! Went in this library to update my details onto my smart cities bus pass and got told it was all good to use and to find out today at another library that I couldn’t use my smart cities due to it my card needed to be renewed and they had to give me a library card instead. The only reason I wanted it on my smart cities card so I could have everything on one card.

In my opinion the staff in the Civic library do not have a clue what they are doing and some need to go on a training course on how to deal with customers with learning needs like myself! I will never be visiting this library again!

Big and well equipped library. I took 1 star because the children's area could be better equipped. Other libraries are awesome for children, this one not so much.

Above the Library is Southampton City Gallery which has one of the best art collections in the World...

Today was the first time I've used the library and it won't be the last!
The staff was very friendly and helped me with my registration and a couple of other things I needed to do, including printing and scanning.
I was happy to find interesting books that I want to read, information about language exchange groups, computers available for work or study... and the atmosphere is very calm.

They have introduced a new system of printing documents. You have to scan and download an app! Something that the library personnel have not highlighted to customers, nor have they posted a how-to guide! Spent several minutes trying to figure it all out: so frustrated!
