Such a fun nostalgic experience. The views are gorgeous and the train is also a great connection between Tontnes and the Otter and Butterfly Sanctuary if you are travelling without a car.
Will definitely visit again.

Lovely nostalgic ride on an old branch line. Only 4 stars as there was children bouncing off the seats in the carriage. Small museum to look around as well.

Ideal for families of all ages, couples and seniors. Stopping at Totnes gives you the opportunity to visit many independent shops and find nice places to eat. The Railway is great for nostalgia and making your own family memories

Great experience and well worth a visit. Lots of activities and a good cafe and model railway shop.

Overall ... beautiful experience.
Steam trains looks wonderful and works very well. The fair goes through really beautiful places such as near the river, through a woodland, glazing lands etc. so you can see a lot of animals and birds (especially ducks).
The steam train also offers food/refreshments but they are not included in the fare price.
There were also a lot of kids in the train and all looked amazed so I'd say from their reactions, is a really good experience for them too.
Just believe the fare price is bit too expensive, but somehow worth as the total trip (with return) takes about one hour.
There is also a museum that you can visit for free.

Fantastic day out. Both ends of the line had something to entertain the family, but the ride was beside the beautiful River Dart which was perfect in itself. The staff were fabulous, the volunteer restoration team had undertaken a brilliant job. If you only want to ride one steam railway line in your life - make it this one

A lovely relaxing return journey along this beautiful stretch of line which follows the river Dart. Friendly helpful staff makes the visit a very pleasurable experience .
