Great little gem showcasing some of Cornwall's mining history. We started with a lovely lunch at the cafe on the same site as the museum. We then bought our tickets for the museum and although they didn't have anyone immediately available to tour us around, we very soon caught up with Alan who was doing the tour for a few others, so we joined him for the remainder.
What a great place with loads of history and mining equipment. Alan was very knowledgeable and told us all about the mining process... And I'm not normally that interested in that sort of stuff to be honest, but I was surprised that I managed to listen and actually enjoy the tour ????
The cherry on the cake is that they allow dogs to come along too, which is an essential for us travelling Cornwall in a camper with our dog.
Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Absolutely fantastic tour to history of mines and Cornwall. Enjoyed every minute of tour with amazing guide. We could ask questions and received lots of information. Was interesting for kids and adults. Machinery of old times in action inspired us so much. Also we can see differences how Cornwall was look like hundreds of years back.
Highly recommended to come and see.

Thank you for our lovely little visit today. Our guide was amazing in every way (The ladies name escapes me sorry.) Tailored our tour to keep our daughter content and happy and we all really enjoyed our time with you. All the volunteers took time to talk to us and interact with us and our daughter. There was lots of buttons to press that all worked something different a model or a story. And she enjoyed the dressing up and colouring in. Thank you everyone involved ????

Absolutely fantastic! Much more informative than I expected. The tour guide, Alan was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen too. The sight is very well kept and engaging. The staff in the shop were very helpful and friendly.

A very interesting look at Cornwall's mining heritage complete with a guided tour around a tin mill with demonstrations of working machinery. The site is not too large but there is plenty to see and we spent quite a few hours taking in the information. Sadly some of external tour was cut short as the weather was atrocious but there was still plenty to take in once indoors.

If you have an interest in Cornwall's mining heritage make sure you put a visit to this excellent museum high on your list!

Brilliant. Informative tour. Have visited several Cornish mining related sites and this brought it all together. The guide was really informative about the geology, the machinery, the history.. Everything. (PS you don't actually go down a mine shaft)

Wonderful little museum staffed by incredible people. Very reasonable entry fee, actually undervalued I would say, so please buy something from the shop or donate a little more to keep it going.

Fantastic afternoon to be had here - the area is steeped in heritage and history, with the guided tour taking you to see how Cornish mines operated, as well as how the workers extracted the metal from the ore. The staff are fantastic and have a vast knowledge of the mine workings in the area, and dive into the details as to how King Edwards operated. Can be walked to by the Great Flat Lode Trail, highly recommended!
