A great option on a rainy day since most exhibits are indoors. You should reserve a tour in advance. Our guide was great with our 9 year old. Such interesting facts about the geology of the area and how the mine worked. Trust the Google Map directions as you will be parking in a grocery car park.

This is a pre book visit but a great visit none the less. Our guide was very nice full of information on the mines locally etc. It takes about an hour including a small film which was very good.

Really interesting collection of buildings which formed the working mine on this site. You go round as part of a group our guide was highly knowledgeable about this and other mining sites in the area. Probably the highlight is the beam engine which is on site and believe still in working order but I'm not sure of any schedule when it runs. Just to note parking is reached from Morrisons car park at the far end.

An interesting guided tour about the history & workings of this particular mine. Much of the equipment still available to see. A great way to spend a couple of hours.

Really excellent tour from Dave, a fantastic ambassador for the National Trust, he was knowledgeable, kind and funny. The tour lasted around an hour and can be booked in advance although the guides are very obliging and if you turn up they will try their best to get you on a tour.
Well worth a visit to see how the mines were and with the tin mines reopening, how things have changed over the years.

We booked this in advance (National Trust) - the tour was great with really knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides. Sadly the projector was not working so we missed the film on our visit (being repaired). Quite a lengthy tour (75mins) but our 10 year old coped! Well worth a visit - beach is just down the road afterwards too!

It was an amazing experience having a tour around the area of this former mine, preceded by looking at the exhibits myself about its history! A lady took me and others through all of the different rooms, detailing what the equipment was once used in them for and areas where certain activities once took place. We also were shown pictures depicting the conditions in the mine and went down a tunnel, giving a feel of how the workers felt!
