Liked: Absolutely loved this site! I stayed alone for my first solo camping trip with my dog and felt very comfortable here. Arrival including a lift over the river was super easy and the owners are really friendly. The campsite is so pretty and quiet. For a 'semi-wild' site the facilities are amazing, everything maintained beautifully and the toilet/shower were excellent, it was all so well looked after and pristinely clean - nicest composting toilet I've ever come across.
I walked back over the river the next day with my things and that was equally straightforward and fun. Can't wait to return!

Liked: We were booked in for 2 nights but liked it so much we stayed another night. The views are amazing and it's very peaceful. I got to see my first Cuckoo. The owners are friendly and helpful. The truck over the river is a fun experience as is the wading over. The composting toilet and shower are great, extremely clean. The honesty shop is handy and cheap. Each pitch is huge so plenty of space and has it's own fire pit with stools and a bench. We plan to visit again when travelling back up to the highlands.

Liked: Loved everything about this campsite - generously spaced pitches along the river, level ground and the sound of the river garry to fall asleep to.
The owner was really friendly, and after giving directions by phone, came along to say Hi and check that everything was ok.
Carrying my stuff across the ford was very fun! The river wasn't high, mid-high shin depth, but i was glad I'd brought walking poles and water shoes to steady me. There's a grassy spot by the river to leave a car.
I had a water filter with me so was able to use water from the river. Be aware that otherwise it's bottled drinking water if you haven't brought your own. Cash / bank transfer at the shop. There is a tap near the toilet huts but it isn't for drinking.
The compost loo was a pleasure to go into and use. Super clean, with fairy lights at night!
Although it's not far from the A9 and there was the distant sound of traffic, and the odd train, I didn't find it at all intrusive. The main sounds were birds calling, and the sound of the river.
Just a perfect spot - would highly recommend.

Liked: Great wee campsite, plenty of space between pitches with the added bonus of a firepit at each pitch. They sell firewood, kindling, bottled water and a few other things in the honesty shop next to the compost loos, which is really handy. There is a water tap but it's not drinking water. We brought a decent filter and were boiling water anyway, so just used the tap water that way. No issue crossing the river in wellies, though it was very low when we went. The owners are really helpful if you need a lift over in their army truck though. It's a peaceful place, so don't spoil it. We had respectful neighbours for the most part, but one family had an excitable dog that wouldn't stop barking. Having a policy of no music is wonderful, especially if you prefer birdsong and the river flowing by. You do get the odd train passing by, and you can hear some of the heavier vehicles along the A9, but unless you're an exceptionally light sleeper you'd probably not notice. We've recommended this campsite to friends already, and this was our second stay.

Liked: The whole stay was just fab. Tabitha and Brett were lovely hosts and the trip across the river in an old army troop carrier was an added but of fun. Pitch was spotless and well laid out with plenty of room between spots. The facilities were also spotlessly clean and the wee honesty shop was fab! The pup was also made super welcome and had a thoroughly lovely time playing in the river and eating sausages by the fireside. Can't recommend enough and will definitely be back!

Liked: Amazing place, very discreet and quiet. Clean toilets, shower is way better than in any other place and also a wee shop with an honesty tin, for wood, kindling, s'mores and fresh eggs. It is very easy to forget that there is an ever rushing world just outside. A wee jeep ride across the river from your car to the tent pitch, already a great start of couple days away. It was our second time and we had a blast, what a great way to start camping season!!!

Liked: The remoteness of this campsite is amazing. Such lovely friendly hosts and although basic facilities their little camp shop had the perfect amount of stuff. The set up on each pitch was also great with a little fire pit meaning you didn't have to bring your own. The hosts were really great at getting us over to the pitch and back again. Don't be like us and not read the information that you either need a 4x4 or a lift from the hosts - however we contacted them just 48hrs before and there were no issues. You can walk back over the river (our 9 & 11 Yr old did also) if you need anything from your car. We will definitely be going back!

Disliked: Having to leave and go home!

Lovely campsite, very private and gorgeous views. Slightly inconvenient to get across the river - although they do help with arrival/departure and it is easy to wade across. Showers/toilets were clean and close, but no drinking water provided onsite. Would definitely go back
