We attended Rum and Reggae night at the racecourse for the first time.

£26pp on the door children under 16 are free. Parking was also free across the road from the racecourse which was helpful.

I was pleased to see it was a family event and not just another race meet with semi drunk large groups shouting around. There was some of that but as there were various areas to walk around, such as food and drink outlets, music areas, ice-cream van etc, you could quite easily take your child away from the loud profanities!

The entertainment by JUST VIBES was spot on, so pleased it was blacked owned as with the food and rum vendors, when anyone else tries to put on a "Caribbean night" it is NOT the same at all.

Jerk chicken (boneless option too) was one of the best tasting I've had from just one food truck (a few dotted around for choice).

The Rum shack although a long wait was amazing! Topped with hand grated nutmeg!

Live music after racing by a reggae roots and culture band (please tag if you know them) was good too, and also nice to see a presence from real Caribbean masqueraders in "pretty mas" costume (aka carnival costumes with feathers).

Overall I would go back, maybe without children to let our hair down more and because we had to swerve a few drunken groups for their sake.

We came here for the vintage and antique fair. Free parking with stalls both indoors and outdoors. This event is every other month. The next event is on 23rd July. There is a small admission fee. Keep in mind there are two food areas. When we were there, live performance near the entrance. Overall, we enjoyed our day here.

Good day out at the races. Race calendar the year round. But chilly in Feb but nice and quiet and not full of the usual drunken numpties. Not been in summer yet but lots of bars and places to eat it seems. Grandstand seems a bit dates but does what it needs to. Just an hour from South London. 2nd times I've been and I'd go again happily. Went with the kids the second time and they enjoyed it.

Had a great family day out. Only criticism is the lack of seats, we spent most of the day sitting on steps or on the grass. Also, no designated smoking spots, I had issue with this as strangers were smoking near children. But still a great day out.

Great afternoon and night at the races. The atmosphere was great and a wide variety of stall for food where available and drinks where everywhere. Towards the end the music started and had a great end to the night listening to live music. Fun for all and will return.

Good day at the races. It was nice to be in the dining room and we had a great server. It was nice to have our meal paced so we could enjoy the races. All of our table of 8 thought our dishes should have been warmer.

Attended the yearly Rum and Reggae event. Had good disability parking and entry. The staff in the reception are were very friendly and the security team were efficient. They allowed us to bring in our small pladtic bottle of water as it was a very hot day. My only criticism was that the tables in the racecourse area could have had parasols to help protect us from the very intense sun rays whilst we were watching the racing.
