Probably the most beautiful place to stay overnight by boat. Cozy, in the middle of the forest. The lock keeper was very friendly and helpful.

We passed through recently once again - we were doing the canoe trail and had to portage around the lock. We have not stayed here yet as we are normally with a group and there are no facilities but the site does look nice. Picnic benches make it a good spot to stop for lunch. And for some reason the sun always seems to be shining when we pass through.

Fantastic spot on the Caledonian Canal. There is a official wild camping place where you can pitch your tent. No toilets or shower though.

Lovely little place to stop while cruising the canal.
No toilet or washing facilities but just a very picturesque place.

Lovely straight forward bike ride to the lock. Biked on to Bridge of Oich and returned to Fort Augustus.

Beautiful place on the other end of Loch Ness. You can have a nice long walk along the Caledonian canal and river Uigh

Great wild camping spot by the canal side (south side in the trees). Cute lock but no toilet facilities.
