Awesome place

Had a nice lunch here. Competitive prices. Staff could have been a little friendlier, but definitely worth a visit.

We had the tea and scones which were delicious and very large.

Pretty venue. Great service. We tried literally everything on the menu starting from sandwiches, burgers, all the way to cakes and drinks- all decent quality for the price we paid, but venison burger and carrot cake were the winners.

Surprisingly poor service, we waited nealy 30 minutes to order.
Also given the King is interested in reversing the climate crisis the plant based options were non-existent!
Cute venue though.

Nice, mid-range, good value for money food and drinks. Cafe heavily Royal family themed, unsurprisingly. Nice buzz about the place

This is disappointingly underwhelming.
You expect some royal ambience and surroundings, but it's no different to dining at any other cafe or basic tea room in any other tourist area... except that it doesn't live up to the expectations that you have.

No Royal ambience. A very plain, bland purpose-built cafe. (See the photos from the other reviewers. Even those photos make it look cosier than it is). Reminds me of the type of cafe found in seating areas for parents in a school or children's play area.

You definitely do not feel that you are on the royal grounds at all.
like any other tourism-located cafe, serves a purpose only. Not an experience.

Had the "Royal Afternoon Tea" package. Really wish I had known how it would be and I wouldn't have bothered.

Nothing relaxing or Royal about it. I have had significantly better afternoon tea offerings and experiences elsewhere. (See my other reviews of some fantastic other locations for afternoon tea)
National Trust properties have a better feel to them!

In fact, there was no "ambience" here at all.

Expectations did not match reality, unfortunately.

That said, the food did taste nice (that's why 2* instead of zero), but the offerings were tiny and embarrassingly sparse,
It was not the "Royal" afternoon tea experience I was expecting.

If you are just popping in for a standard afternoon tea, that's ok, though significantly overpriced. But if you are booking up and expecting a "ROYAL afternoon tea", especially as a tourist/visitor, I could not recommend it.

Seems like an outside commercial company run it for the royal estate and just get business from the name?

Very good caffe but not wow, the tea time isn't outstanding. I will repeat that experience, it's highly recommended.

Normal cafe, you don't feel like you are on a 'Royal' grounds. The huge downside of it was that everything was served in single-use tableware, apart from the visitors who booked the afternoon tea experience. Almost all tables were prepared for them. The ceramic crockery was visible on the tables but not available for everyone. As 'normal' visitors we needed to use the table in the corners, drink our coffee from paper cups and eat cakes with wooden forks. The sandwiches looked exactly the same as the ones you can buy in any supermarket, of course packed. Fortunately, the packaging was paper not plastic. However, still it is neither pleasant or ecological, especially they clearly had possibility to use ceramic tableware as it was used for afternoon tea. Looked really like a profit-driven place
On the bright side, my vegan jaffa cake was really good.
