Booking a taxi in uckfield is a challenge, most operators seem annoyed you have called. We were told to wait half an hour, so we did. We then waited out front of our hotel in plenty of time and it never arrived. It turned out the taxi driver let someone else in our cab…why they didn’t check the name before they took our cab is beyond me. Also they close at like 5pm which is maddening if you need a cab in the evening

Got charged £16 for a 3 mile journey (at lunchtime). This included a £5 "Surcharge" for not going through Uckfield! The driver said they should have told you on the phone. They didn't. What a con!

Called over the weekend for last minute requirements, was met with a friendly helpful call enquiry. Pricing is excellent and fair. Highly recommend.

I would not recommend the services of R & R taxis I had booked a taxi to meet the last train into Uckfield on Sunday night -they did not show up. I waited 20 mins in the pouring rain, in the dark and a women on her own. I had to walk home at midnight it was a very unpleasant experience and to add to this , according to the driver, who was suppose to pick me up I accused him of doing it deliberately when the people I should blame are his previous clients who did not turn up on time and he had to go back for them. So if you are looking for reliability R & R taxis are not in my experience the ones for you especially if you are a women alone late at night.

Booked for a return journey. Outward leg on time and well driven.
Return leg taxi was nearly 30 mins late - no apology from the driver.
Whilst driving the driver took a phone call. He did have a hands free phone so was technically within the law but throughout the call he kept one hand to his ear - only one hand on the steering wheel. He also checked a text message received whilst driving. Unsafe driving in my opinion.

Wow. That's an experience. R & R collected us from a party, did two runs, first run to Cross in Hand, then were coming back to pick us up. 15 minutes later a taxi came to the house, we assumed it was R & R and got into it and took it back to Waldron. However, it appears it wasn't the R & R taxi and it was another one, presumably that another guest booked but we weren't aware it wasn't the right taxi. I appreciate this would have been a great inconvenience to R & R. However, being rung by the company the next day and being shouted at and told I am a liar I do not appreciate. They told me I had clearly taken a lift with another guest and didn't bother to ring R&R to cancel. I told them I appreciate how hard it must be being a taxi driver on a Saturday night and I would never do that to a taxi company, and that it was a genuine mistake. To which he calls me a liar and a b*tch. I guess it's safe to say I will not be recommending R & R to anyone ever.....!

After speaking to a lovely gentleman to book my taxi tonight but stupidly not asking the price i was charged 19 pounds to go 5 minutes down the road (10 from uckfield). It costs me less to go from tunbridge wells to crowborough after midnight. Such a shame!

Do not use. They are incredibly inflexible and unfriendly - they showed up 15 minutes late and then refused to change destination (Uckfield train was cancelled).
