Dear tourists, please be very careful on the Gold Souk. There are lots of crooks. I was cheated by the shop HAPPY LIFE. After a short presentation of the spices and offering us a cup of tea with saffron. DON'T do it, it will be your biggest mistake!!! The service is friendly, they distract you, offer you more and more. They don't say the price. Then they measure the jars with the tea/spices etc., insist on paying by card, don't tell the sum loudly, just type it on the device, which is purposefully turned on the seller's side, so you can not see quite well. He just fast push it in my bag and everything happens so fast and skillfully. So I was fooled. When I came back in my hotel in the evening and saw the UAE, turned them into my currency, I realised that I was totally overcharged. I got angry, Texted my guide and he was apologetic and brought me more spices to my hotel. So BE CAREFUL !!! when shopping at Gold Souk!!! HAPPY LIFE!!! spices shop.

The tour guide dropped us there off and after a short presentation of the spices and offering us a cup of tea with safran, you are welcomed to come inside the shop. DON'T do it, it will be your biggest mistake!!! The service is friendly, they distract you, offer you more and more. They don't say the price, they mention only the cheap ones, ex. the dates. Then they measure the jars with the tea/spices etc., insist on paying by card, don't tell the sum loudly, just type it on the device, which is purposefully turned on the seller's side, so you can not see quiet well. They don' t give you the receipt. Accidentally he left mine next to the device and asked me to follow him for some gifts, but I took my receipt, he just fast push it in my bag and everything happens so fast and skillfully. So I was fooled. When I came back in my hotel in the evening and saw the UAE, turned them into my currency, I realised that I was totally overcharged, 4 jars tea + 3 packets of dates u003d1500 UAE. I got angry, read right away and found out that many tourists have been cheated, even with a greater sum of money. I researched where I could complain, found a number and on the other day I took a taxi and went to this awful place the Gold Souk again, this time not as a stop of my tour. For God' sake I was lucky it was not my last day in Dubai and I had a receipt for the paying, not for the items. So I turned everything back and insisted on my money in cash back, they said they didn't have so much early in the morning but I threatened them that I was going to call the customer complaints number and I had the receipt. Finally they didn't argue at all and I got my money back.
So BE CAREFUL !!! There are plenty of "fraud"sellers on the Gold Souk!!! HAPPY LIFE!!! makes you unhappy and may ruin your holiday!

Dont let yourself be fooled by friendly people. This guys will rip you off!
Quality of nuts and spices are medium at the best.
Try another shop and save a lot of money!

Was there today for my Covid19 vaccine.. Been there at a couple of functions in the past & always been good.. Not much to say, its a town hall.. ????u200d♂️ Has a fantastic bronze bust of the late, great, Socialist & Labour Party founder, Keir Hardie outside of it.. Pity we've nothing like him in today's politics..

Got my second covid vaccine. Very clean very orderly. They even have a separate line for people with appointments so you don't have to wait in the huge 'walk in' queue
