Extremely rude to my child, ignored him completely on a story time workshop. He was extremely disheartened that he asked me to leave the library immediately after that. We have booked in for the event and he was extremely excited about it.

Lovely building, lively atmosphere with friendly professional staff. A jewel in an otherwise boring featureless town. Thank you David for your help carried out with a smile and patience.

A great library with really helpful staff and a lovely atmosphere. Has time for a rhyme sessions for children and book groups running weekly.
Opening hours on Google are wrong, I've tried editing them. Library is currently open 9-8 Mondays and Wednesdays, 9-5 Tuesdays and 10-3 on Saturdays.
Also has an art gallery upstairs which is only open a few days a year.

A great library with really helpful staff, although at the time of writing this (3/8/18) Google is listing incorrect opening hours. The library is open at all listed times, but there's occasional restricted access to PIN-card holders when the library is unmanned...any library member can apply for access, applications must be made in person when the library is staffed.
Please refer to the Tameside.gov website for staffed & restricted access hours.
