Amazing beach to have on my doorstep! There's a bowls club and lot's of other informal groups that exercise in the area (open water swimming and running clubs)

Havnt been for 40 years plus and as I remember.
Parking easy by beach but not cheap .
Lovely walk along sea path to old leigh .
Less busy than southend and used more by locals

Beautiful beach with fantastic views and scenery, plenty of benches to sit and watch the world go by. 2 cafes to grab lunch or just a coffee and ice cream. Clean Public toilets as well. Well worth a visit!

Perfect place to sit and watch the world go by, and to take a dip in the sea if you fancy it! The small sandy beach is perfect, with a couple of coffee shops/cafes located right on the front. The tide was in when we visited, so lots of people in for a swim....looked perfect but X3 mutts kept us on the prom, but the water looked great....well worth a visit to the Chalkwell Beach area.

Given that this is relatively close to London and is in an urban area, Chalkwell can be nothing short of spectacular. Time it right and get a full tide in the winter when there's a high pressure zone over the UK and little wind, the views across the Thames towards Kent are little short of amazing. Unfortunately, having witnessed this scene over the last 20 years going back and forth to work I still haven't got it together to photograph it. In the winter it's also beautiful in it's bleakness with a rich array of birdlife - waders, gulls, ducks and Geese feeding in the mud. Great place!

Pebbles beach ⛱ . After roughly 10 AM is only mud,water was missing almost all day.
Free toilets on the esplanade.
You need to pay for parking on the esplanade. After 6PM is free.

Love this area of the beach. Lovely atmosphere, great place to stretch the legs and take your dog and kids for a stroll. Theres a walkway all the way along the coast to leigh.
