Visited the gardens which are great for a nice stroll. Dog friendly throughout. It's a nice walk to the chain bridge and England just over the river. Beware that there are limited formal gardens if that's what you're after. The waterwheel is kinda interesting but doesn't run all the time. There's a decent size kids play park which is probably the main attraction for most. Worth stopping by if you're in the area.

Went to the cafe for afternoon tea and we were not disappointed! Cakes, tray bakes, scones, sausage rolls, quiche, and more.. all beautiful! Nothing, and I mean nothing wasn't nice. Not to mention, they did me a gluten-free stand all to myself (small stand in the 3rd photo) and OMG... absolutely delicious. Not to mention the endless pots of tea. I really couldn't fault the staff they were all lovely and very attentive. All for only £15 per head.
I would highly recommend this place

Popped into Paxton house with our dog for a quick lunch. The old harness room is now available for visitors with dogs. They even have ice cream on the menu for dogs and lots of strategically placed water bowls. Lots of picnic tables outside. The main restaurant is in the old stables with tables in the stalls. Delicious lunch. I had gluten free and vegan pea and mint soup with gf bread. My husband enjoyed the gf and vegan tomato and basil soup with a cheese scone. Lots of delicious home baking including gf. No art exhibition on today but I noticed they are holding craft fairs in a big marquee by the house on Wednesdays. Couldn't resist buying a wee plant from their plant table on the way out. I'm always hopeful I'll see a red squirrel but no luck on this visit ????️ Lots of car parking. No charge if having lunch but £7 for a ticket to visit the grounds. Annual passes £20. Summer Festival of Chamber music including family concerts and folk music 21 to 30 July 2023. Think we'll be back very soon.

Beautiful, peaceful place to visit. Just had a walk around the grounds then went into the tea room. The staff in the tearoom were very friendly and polite, got the best fruit scone with cream and gorgeous homemade raspberry jam, caramel latte, white chocolate mocha and cheese scone. I would go back just for the scones and cuppa ???? definitely be back for another walk and visit the tea room.

Fabulous house to visit. Did the tour today (2nd June 10.15) with Carol. She was so good, interesting to listen to but also she was fabulous with children, as well as considerate of visitors with sight and mobility issues. She made the house come alive.
The tearooms were really good, so impressed with the lunches as well as the caring, thoughtful staff.
Would recommend the walk down to the bridge, an added bonus. Though the path is quite overgrown in parts.
Also thankyou so much to the gentleman at the waterwheel. He explained it so well. Didn't get chance to thank him personally, was rushing back to see the display in the house. It's a strange system but the part on enslaved people's is a part you come back to after the tour. Again the gentleman there was a true gentleman, he didn't intrude but was there to answer any questions.

You can only visit inside the house as part of a guided tour. Its £12 for adults and lasts around 90 minutes. The guide was excellent and so knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Didn't think there was a lot too it. Didn't view the house as we had the dogs with us. Thinking there were formal gardens we could view. The gardens were limited and essentially a walk in the woods
