This a lovely little wood for a short walk. The old buildings that used to sit unkempt amongst the ivy and hawthorn have now gone, but there are still some squat concrete shelters to be found. The woods has a rough circular path around the perimeter, but you can have a lot of fun exploring off the beaten path.
