Wallingford is half-way between Oxford and Reading. Its time in the sun was long ago and most of its best artifacts are in other places. However, this compact museum has some interesting displays - two rooms on the castle (now grassy knolls nearby) - and a warm welcome from the volunteers, who may have uneathed some of the minor treasures on show! A must-visit for local residents and local history buffs.

Amazing little museum ... Very well laid out ... Lovely history of the castle, great display on Agatha Christie, and some very interesting displays on the history of the town. Highly recommend a visit.

MUSEUM IS CLOSED DECEMBER, JANUARY AND FEBRUARY. Posting as a public service assist because the online opening times present as OPEN in these months. Hope to help people not to go there in these months when it is closed as we, as Canadians, did. Sure it would be interesting and sure that the museum’s volunteers are often stretched to get things done. Giving 4 star stars only so as not to negatively affect their ratings as communication of opening time said in the only issue covered. Best going ahead.

A wonderful museum with so much to see. Fascinating. From viking artifacts to the famous Agatha Christie's personal letters. Well run indeed.

I went because a special exhibition of the PRU from RAF Benson was on. It was only for a day . It was a very good one and lots of information.

A small museum about Wallingford and Agatha Christie. Enjoyed it. Really interesting anecdotes about Agatha who used to live in Wallingford.

Cute and small museum. Has lots of Agatha Christie stuff and paintings of William Fletcher.

Took 10 year old grandson and we both really enjoyed it. Lovely model of castle and stories about Wallingford people and shops ( most of which I remember ) Closed now until Spring.
