First of all a big thank you to Mermaid Diving Center who helped me take my first steps in diving, it was amazing. It is very hard to imagine a friendlier atmosphere. Mr. Yasser is a very experienced professional instructor, so the training went without any problems. I truly miss this place and the guys at this dive center. And I would like to go back there again and continue my training because I fully trust their professionalism.

Best diving center in the UAE
Master Yasser Al Assal is one of rhe best divers in the world i highly recommend visiting the center and taking courses with him worth every single penny

The best diving experience ever! It was our first time diving, we were recommended this place by our friend Ahmed Mansi and it was truly the best experience ever! Thank you to our diving instructor who was friends with Ahmed for making the dive so easy and one of the best experiences ever! We highly recommend them!

Just finished a one on one open water course there and can 110 % recommend it. Yasser (leader) is very experienced and knowledgeable and also his staff (in particular Mohammed) are very professional and nice. It was an awesome experience. The training ground is just next to the school and very convenient with some decent fish to look at.
The team went out of their way to give my son a fun dive experience in the pool which was a real highlight for him.
Overall top notch and much better than any other experienced I had in other holiday locations.

The Mermaid diving centre based at ‘Rixos The Palm’ hotel, is a fantastic dive centre.

It’s run by Yasser, accompanied by diving professionals Hamid and Aaron.

Our kids have been diving here now for 5 years, the eldest completed his PADI open water junior about 3 years ago and our youngest (now 10 years old) has just completed the same course.

Starting with 2 pool dives to gain confidence and skills before progressing into the sea - the theory assisted by ‘The Captain’ Yasser was also completed whilst we were here - once qualified it is followed by a fun recreation dive, all logged on the PADI app.

This really is a gem of a find, and one of the reasons we return to Rixos hotel every October - I believe they take clients from anywhere though, it isn’t limited to hotel guests.

Overall, a highly recommended diving centre!

Yesser and Mohammad were absolutely amazing diving instructors! I really enjoyed doing my padi course with them - I cannot recommend them enough - Every year I come back to Dubai I will dive with them them. I have done dives in Spain, Croatia, Turkey and none of them were as good as Yesser and Mohammad. Thank you gentlemen

Experience was amazing! From the moment me and my girlfriend enter we were welcomed with the best hospitality. Everything was explained easy and to the point. Instructor Yasser knows his field well. It was the first time for me and I am glad we took our time and enjoyed the experience at its fullest! Fully recommend!!!;)))

There is no one to provide information. Damaged screens without where to check route information.
Many people do not know where or at what time to wait for their bus. And the worst, the national express app does not give this necessary information either.

Just the usual third world service. Hugely busy Bank Holiday and the toilets are shut and there are no staff. Does not even state the location of alternative toilets......update in April 2023 and still no toilets and no staff ...very handy for Albert Dock and major shops though...

Lovely, world class bus station. They could do with a little bit of heated rooms, since they transport new residents and visitors who may not be able to withstand the cold until the arrival of the next bus.

Not a single screen turned on with any information. And one surly squat man working, who shouts at drivers and customers alike. Even if they are disabled.

Note i am reviewing the 26 and 27 bus routes. The buses never run on time(from depot), shocking for a bus that goes round in a circle!
some of the bus drivers are miserable and rude.. some even ignore you when you say hello. Now i wait for them to say it before i bother. The buses are dirty and makes me wonder if anyone makes an effort to clean. They usually turn up dirty, smelly and sometimes with racist graffiti. Its £2.80 for a single which is disappointing for what you get, they want the big bucks but can't deliver on the service. I can't wait to get my car....
Edit post bus strike:
Things have gotten worse! The buses turn up uncleaned and smelly, the driver are more ruder than ever and the bus are either too early or too late.

Buses show up whenever they feel like. The time boards are utterly useless. They are never on time. Ever. This place is run by amateurs.
