It’s a nice cafe with lovely smoothies
I tried the mango lassi it was awesome, need I say it was my first time trying lassi...I was impressed.
I and my sisters were so happy knowing the place.

Very poor delivery. We can't trust them. Don't have responsible management. Please check all items when they deliver

Excellent service received from the Reading Rooms. I booked on behalf of my husband who was taking part in a cycling event and needed a room at short notice. Brian was extremely accommodating.

I booked a room for a friend and she was extremely comfortable. The B&B is well-situated in the centre of the village and close to public transport, and people really friendly and helpful. She liked the ‘help yourself’ system for breakfast and snacks. None of that waking up and wishing you’d asked for breakfast an hour later and there was a really good thoughtful range of provisions.

Clean airy room and clean on suite. We were in room 2 overlooking Bridge and river. Very picturesque! Staff lovely and accommodating to your needs. . Bonus is you get use of kitchen and dinning area. We got breakfast too(help yourself to cereal fruit and toast) Suited my 9yr old son and i as made up lunch in kitchen for going out for the day.. would reccomend stay here

My review of The Reading Rooms.
Beautiful, welcoming, clean with an abundance of thought into making your stay comfortable.
It is clear the owners have a passion for their business as it’s the little details of homely touches in addition to the professionalism of the layouts, staff and the information given, not only throughout the property, but within your room, which most certainly makes me looking for dates to return.

Excellent B&B with everything you need. We have just spent 3 nights at The Reading Rooms and thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation, facilities and location for our trips to Housesteads and Corbridge. Thank you very much Brian & Gill for your excellent hospitality.

This was a super find. It’s unpretentious but has everything you actually need. Room was spacious, bright, clean and comfy. Lots of hot water and roomy shower, plus hairdryer. Shared dining room and kitchen. Good selection of cereals, bread, juice, jam etc for make it yourself breakfast. Kitchen has utensils, fridge, freezer and microwave so you can make a meal or a packed lunch easily. Yes you’ll find faults if you look hard enough, but why bother, it’s in a fab location in the village with shops and pubs, walks from the door along the river and further afield, lots of useful info from Brian and in books in the dining room. We stayed 3 days but a week would have been better. Hadrian’s wall was a good visit, also Keilder Water, Hexham, and the Allendale Gorge. Highly recommend this b&b , it has to be one of the best we’ve stayed in. Thanks Brian and Gill ☺️

We have just stayed at the reading room for two nights. I think this is the perfect place to come and use as a base for walking hadrian's wall or for fishing in the Tyne.
Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for brian and the room was clean and the bed comfortable. All cooking facilities available .
Brian takes pride in the rooms and seems to really enjoy meeting people and you can see he gets enjoyment from people telling him they will return in the future. Highly recommended

A great location for exploring Hadrian's Wall and the surrounding area. We stayed 3 nights and had a great time. The rooms are simple, but comfortable and very quiet. (With the windows closed, there is virtually no sound from outside at all.) Our host was very helpful and had some great suggestions on things to see and do. (We second his recommendation to see Vindolanda, just a bit down the road.) We would definitely stay here again.
