Lovely monument that the council need to maintain better. It’s for all the local hero’s from the war. The grass needs cutting but a lovely bit of local history

The views over Pontypridd, Treforest, the Graig and Gelliwion are breathtaking. You can see Sainsbury's and the chain works memorial located on the roundabout by Sainsbury's. The walk takes you across the common from Hospital Road, passing Y Bwthyn, the Cottage Hospital and the Rocking Stone and if you continue down the path a bear to the left, at the bottom of the steps is the devil's chair. There are lots of dog walkers who use this route. You can trace your steps back to the Rocking Stone and turn right down the hill to reach the Round houses, built by William Price. Both houses are listed, but are so fascinating and well worth a look
