Lovely place, friendly and welcoming. The lock keeper was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the canals and locks history and it was really interesting to speak to her. We stayed a night in the informal campsite at the locks whilst walking the Great Glen Way. Nice flat ground and the cedonaian canal facilities and surrounding area was immaculate.

Peaceful,calming ,great walk,cafe,restaurant, shop,ice cream shop,toilets,nice for a stop off and a wander or even a trip on one of the boats,or if you want a walk/cycle/run you could always do the Inverness loop,follow the paths either side of canal,flat all the way

A beautiful place to stop over. The lock is surrounded with multiple scenic views. You can got on-board on a river cruise from here. Lovely place

We got on the Jacobite tour from here. Amazing place, very clean, lovely walk abd very, very peacefull. Not to miss, the Calledonian canal itself it is a very beautiful piece of engineering and all the locks as well, specially the step ones.

Dochgarroch Locks is part of the Caledonian Canal. You can do a very good walk or cycle from Inverness out here and back. It is a distance of around eight miles. Once you are out here it is an automatic place to have a break. There is a cafe nearby but it was late evening that I was here. I walked it from Inverness and return and the paths were extremely good just be sure to come prepared for a change of weather. There are no facilities here except when the cafe is open.

Nice place for a quick visit, lots of green around, few cafe businesses, relaxing yet everything you need nearby.

Nice spot for a visit, there are a couple of cafes, and if the locks aren't active you can cross over and walk out towards the weir splitting the River Ness from the Caledonian Canal. If you're staying in Inverness it is possible to walk out from the city center following either side of the canal, and then cross at the locks and come back on the other side.
