Booked an evening meal for 2 and was not disappointed. Both starters were tasty the goats cheese and red onion tart in filo pastry was delicious and much larger than expected. For mains we both chose steak and ale pie with creamy mash, chips and Al dente veg. The pie was huge and probably the best I'd ever tasted. Friendly staff and excellent service. We'll definitely be returning. Excellent wheelchair accessfrom car park and inside. Easily able to get wheelchair under the table . Thank you

we have visited the rag many times its one of our favourite restaurants, so we chose to have my 50th birthday meal here. Our group of 12 were seated in an exclusive area between restaurant and the bar as requested ,food was served in a timely manner and was the usual high standard. All in our group commented how good the food and service was and everyone had a great evening. Once again The Rag done us proud.

What a fantastic place. Went here at the spur of the moment and ended up stopping all night.
Staff were very friendly, tent outside with a group playing. There's also an outside bar and a pizza/burger shack.
There were no chavs / trouble at all.
Good food and good prices.
Just bare in mind, it's a dog friendly pub. But we had no problem with it

Went for a meal with friends are eat in the bar area. Really lovely and a good atmosphere. The service was excellent, despite being busy. We decided to have the 2 for £40 menu, excellent value for money, included a bottle of wine in the price. The food arrived quickly, looked good and was totally delicious. Good selection of drinks available, including draught beer, which a lot of places are discontinuing. Would definitely recommend and will be returning. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

Stayed for 2 nights about 3 weeks ago. Can't fault any aspect. Lovely location, food excellent and all the staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Can thoroughly recommend it.

Beautiful location and the food was amazing. The service didn't match. Took ages to get someone's attention and we seemed to get a trainee who was very willing and very lovely just didn't have a clue. Overall very good and service is fixable

Went for a mid week meal. There was a choice off a menu, or a fixed price meal, two courses and a bottle of wine for £45.
Could not go wrong with either choice really well presented and tasty and good value for money we had the fixed price meal for £45 no hesitation to recommend this venue for a quiet relaxing meal for two or a family meal.

Oh dear..
15/4/23 a friend and I visited for lunch.

The 'restaurant' was practically empty. However, a few minutes after being seated two customers were put at a table right next to ours..?

Crab salad starter (£9.95) was plentiful and well presented. Seafood had clearly been frozen. The small amount of cheap bread had been 'shown' butter.

Shoulder of lamb - £17 (very fatty/cheap cut)..looked and tasted as if it had been warmed up in microwave. 1 processed roast potato and a small amount of luke warm veg in another dish.

My friend had the 'Lobster' Linginue. Again appeared to be microwaved and no real evidence of genuine Lobster. However a few Cray fish put in to accompany the 'absent' Lobster.

Unsurprisingly, the service was quick; (As microwaves are)..

We were asked twice (by two different (disinterested) members of staff how our meals were? Twice I didn't answer (but let the second person know we'd been asked)..

Verdict - Tasteless, overpriced and extremely
poor value for money rubbish!
