This yard is absolutely beautiful; their more traditional boats are gorgeous, even to someone who doesn't know much about boats! The staff were friendly and helpful, especially with our children. There are toilet and shower facilities, which were lovely and clean. It's possible to buy snacks (crisps and chocolate) and hot drinks here before you sail and there is a small car park.

The Hunter's fleet is pretty unique on the Broads. I've been sailing Hustlers and Woods on and off for 37 years and they feel like a home from home. I love the purist nature of sailing these Broads cruisers. I lamented the removal of oil lamps and addition of electric inboards, but understand the Yard's fear of one of their "old ladies" burning into the river. I witnessed the use of the electric motor on another boat, while I was quantity my purist one against heavy wind and tide. I think I could be swayed on that too!! The team of builders and repairers at the Yard are simply amazing skilled magicians at maintaining the fleet and fixing damage. Testament to the years of Percy, Cyril, County Sailing Base, Hunter's Yard and all who have worked there over the years that some of the fleet are fast approaching being centurions and look as good as new! Thank you to you all!

Since my first visit I have now sailed twice, in a half decker and Wood, such beautiful boats lovingly looked after and cared for. On both occasions had a fantastic time. The boatyard is magical with so much history and wonderful wooden boats. All staff really helpful and knowledgeable, looking forward to going back very soon.

What a treat. Almost reticent to review as more people will make use of it!
Staff were super engaging and friendly. Boat was in excellent condition. Briefing was comprehensive and happy to answer lots of questions.
Simple location to launch from. Nice clean facilities on site.
Hopefully we can come back again and have another adventure.

Beautiful boats, kept in top condition. We had the most senior (1936!) and she behaved impeccably. Lovely to sail. If you can't sail she is worth learning for. But in the meantime definitely go on a skippered trip!

Peaceful, welcoming boat yard and sailing boat/bed on a boat hire. Clean amenities, friendly staff.

Great boats, great people. Just wish I had more time to spend there. What could be better, maybe bring back the oil lamps. Maybe have the white mugs rather than the chunkier blue, but how the overall ratings are less than 5 out of 5; I don't know. New painted pathway in the boat shed and a little more red tape thanks to née safety regs but effortlessly implemented.

Amazing midweek break on Hustler4, beautifully balanced, predictably boat. Well equipped. Perfect compromise for Broads cruising. The new electric drive provides element of assurance in a windless spot and in arriving/departing moorings should encourage many for whom quanting not a familiar skill.
The Hustler is ideal length and windward ability means it will readily tack up narrow channels and is highly maneoverable. I would encourage any confident small boat sailor to try it.
USB port a little godsend for keeping the smartphone alive.
Traditional simple reefing means no need to sit out a day with lively breeze. Just power down and enjoy. Brilliant.
Hunters Yard do a great job keeping the little beauties shipshape -traditional yet class act.
