Thanks to Caroline for her fascinating insight into the explorers garden she so obviously has a genuine passion for the place and a determination to restore it to its former glory even on a wet day this is a fascinating place I could list some of the wonder features but really half the fun is exploring this extensive garden , I've been head concierge next door for years and never realised how interesting it was 10 times the size I thought I assumed it was a narrow strip up the side of our driveway

How serendipitous that we stopped into Pitlochry and had Jacqueline at the visitors' center recommended we visit the gardens!

Compact, but we'll filled with wonderfully interesting and lovely plants. It was a wonderful surprise and a welcome respite on our drive from Inverness to Edinburgh.

Wish we could have lingered longer......

Visited in July, not much flowers were blossoming. We were told that the best time to visit is spring. Nice walk through the garden, took us about 45 min to complete

Fantastic layout in this garden and in a beautiful setting, a good display of mecanopsis/big blue poppies and hard landscape with the dry stone walls were lovely. Could be improved with more planting as there were a few bare patches of soil around

Don’t bother going at the moment (July 22). We paid £12 for 2 adults at the entrance and were very disappointed. The gardens are badly overgrown and have obviously not been tended for some time.

Wonderful couple of hours spent in the gardens. Just incredible how these amazing Scottish men travelled all over the world to achieve this very important knowledge. Even in the rain we had today! We will return Mags and Gordon

Very nice place to visit and have a stroll through these gardens. Interesting facts about the plants and trees along with information about the Scottish botanists who explored the World bringing back seeds etc. to grow here in Scotland and elsewhere in UK.

Very disappointed, was looking forward to this, says its open on the web, but on arrival its all locked up. Looks like it's closed up for the season and not even the end of September.
