Not much to see, small stone with 1722 carved on the faces. Apparently a woman was killed because her and her daughter were a bit simple and the neighbours didn't get along with her for being odd.
They claimed the had a fling with the devil and produced a child with learning difficulties and they killed her.
Her lass prob had learning issues that was not diagnosed so they just killed her instead.
Thank heavens we have science now eh!!

An unassuming small carved stone in a suburban garden marks the spot where one of the last women in Scotland was executed for being a witch , the grisly story is told on an info board not too far from the stone.

Lovely stone the village is full of history the museum was lovely the staff were as always helpful. The stone is relic that makes the last lady to be burnt as a witch

Thank goodness Common sense has prevailed. Think what human kind has lost by suppressing women. My mother was dux of her school and ended up in service.

This is amazingly well kept garden with a tribute to such a sad story however this is worth a visit if your walking around Dornoch at any point the information and sign are well presented.
