I am a RAKBank Elite Customer.

RAKBank security measures for credit card online transactions are weak in the extreme with no consumer protection other than easily spoofed OTP.

I approved a 10AED charge via OTP on 26 May 2023 and 10,000AED was taken from my credit card. I immediately notified RAKBank Call Center and submitted a Credit Card Dispute Form within minutes of this fraud in order to stop its processing. RAKBank says this 10,000AED theft is my fault since I approved it via OTP. I APPROVED 10AED, NOT 10,000AED!!!!!!!

My other credit card providers have antifraud features to monitor consumer spending and have additional approval steps to prevent frauds like this. RAKBank makes it easy for criminals to steal from their customers.

I have more bank accounts in the UAE and I am even an RakElite customer.

But Rakbank is first one who blocks you immediately when you don t update your Emirates ID. I have even enough funds on my accounts. But I cannot pay my credit card as they not allow you any access and additionally they charge you AED 700 for late payment fees.

It doesn t matter that you are on business trips or any other important circumstances. Its a shame to treat customer like that and NBD haven t blocked me yet. I am going with all my funds back to NBD!!!

I tried to get some information regarding mortgage products and determined that the people who worked there were too thick to do business with. I highly recommend not wasting time on them.

UPDATE: After sending an email to the complaints address...no further response was received. No one appears to care.

Business account opening takes ages (~2months) to process.
I must say, based on the numerous interactions we had with the bank reps, the bank is not interested in obtaining new clients / businesses. We were glad to notice this during our registration process, so as we wouldn’t continue with RAK Bank.
Moved to another bank that values our time and business.
