We love The Golden Eagle! A family run, family friendly pub. Dogs with considerate owners are welcome! The pub is clean, Tyler, Chris & the staff are friendly, warm & welcoming people. A wide selection of Beers, Spirits and Wines are on offer and the pricing is fine. A bear Garden with Booths (may need to book on hot days) and outdoor smoking area with patio heaters give you an outdoor space to access no matter the weather.

We were at a niece's wedding celebration mid June and all was lovely. The garden etc was very pleasant, the food wonderful and the atmosphere great. Lots of praise to the pub's Host and Hostess. Xx

Only just started visiting, 3/4 times, based on that host's make you feel welcome, good choice of real ale, reasonably priced, will keep popping in.

Attracted by "dine in" and seated dining on Google reviews and being the Good Beer Guide.
No Food, in fact the place is a scruffy dump, and the beer quality is nothing better than average.
Castle Rock you should be ashamed of this place!

On a route from our campsite into Lincoln up the (horribly scruffy) High Street the Golden Eagle was recommended for a pint of real ale. Deadly quiet with one of the staff with her feet up on the banquette seating u003ctwitchu003e. We belatedly realised the table we selected to sit at had the packaging and detritus of a previous customer's bought-in meal of Co-op mini scotch egg bites and crisps. Disappointing housekeeping aside the beer range was excellent and it seems like a nice pub. I enjoyed a Pheasantry BB I think and would have stayed for another but the general ambience had my wife requesting an alternative venue. I'm sure it's a great boozer when busy.

Was once pub with character and community. The staff were friendly and the beer selection of exceptional standard.

That was then. I dont know who's taken it over but they are obnoxious, stand-offish and rude. The beer quality/how it's kept has drastically declined, 3 different ales all tasting like yeasty dishwater in dirty glasses. Cheeky comments from bar staff CAN be questioned, family ran or not. What happenned to customer service eh? The pub is grotty, the toilet the worst I've ever been in, with the smell of ammonia so strong i could feel the enamel dissolving from my teeth. This dive is always empty unless they put something on outside. Food? I wouldn't eat from here because I wouldn't want to risk getting Campylobacter. The pub stinks as well... fetid and farty.

A VERY unhygienic place and not worth ppls time or money. Not mine anyway.
There are loads of better pubs to go to.. many on the high street and further up.
The Golden eagle ranks in the lowest 5 pubs in Lincoln imo.
Nothing golden about it whatsoever.

It's a friendly local pub with a superb choice of beers from independent breweries. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable and the beer garden is superb with lots of booths with heating to sit outside in the summertime. They also had an outside barbecue going when I was there serving the usual hotdogs and burgers. I was very impressed and it's well worth a visit

I went to a wedding reception here on Friday held in the garden staff were brilliant, singer brilliant and food was amazing great pub
