I recently had the pleasure of dining at San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles and I must say, it was an outstanding experience. The restaurant's Chinese cuisine was simply delicious and left me satisfied and wanting more.

The star of the show was definitely the hand-pulled noodles. They were perfectly cooked and had just the right amount of chewiness to them. I opted for the beef noodle soup and it was one of the best I've ever had. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the beef was tender and juicy.

But what really made my experience at San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles stand out was the incredible staff. They were friendly, attentive and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. To my surprise, they even offered me complimentary appetizers and desserts to try, which were equally delicious.

Overall, my experience at San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles was top-notch. The food was amazing and the staff was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine.

Went to this place after seeimg some food Vlogger review

Overall experience amazing but I also review the food thinking will I go back again to retry it I might not go back

What we ordered

Spicy shredded potatoes
Chicken wonton soup noodles
Cumin lamb noodles
Chicken minced noodles
Bao bun - chicken
Macroons ( world top rated as they claim)

Positives
Food - amazing fresh food, noodles were freshly made.
The cumin lamb noodles were simply brilliant. Noodles soup was yummy also.
The spicy shredded potatoes were out of this world
The service was amazing the waiter even guided us not to have spicy potatoes before cumin lamb noodles as it will effect the taste
Macroons were just amazing, really soft , fluffy and cream filling was just yum

Negatives
Taste was great but not great enough that I will come back again for the same food. For me it is a definite worth the try for one time and then I will leave it upto you
Chopsticks were not properly covered, they have different varieties that is nice

The space was too small and too crowded, luckily I reached early hence I would recommend going there between 7-9.

Overall amazing plaze, definitely worth the try for 1 time atleast.

马马虎虎/Mamahuhu aka soso noodles

As someone who has lived in China for a decade, with experience in both cheffing and eating local cuisine, I had high hopes for this Chinese hand pulled noodle place. However, my visit left much to be desired, and I wouldn't be eager to return.

The experience started on a disappointing note with the cucumber salad. Instead of a fresh and crisp delight, it was served in a soggy and pickle-like manner, not at all the way it should be presented. The noodles themselves had a decent texture, but the broth was lacking depth and complexity, leaving it rather ordinary.

One saving grace was the nice spicy sauce, which brought some flavor to the overall experience. The dry beef stood out as a highlight, and would pair exceptionally well with a glass of beer. The shredded potatoes were also commendable, adding a pleasant touch to the meal. However, the green beans dish failed to impress and left much to be desired.

On the service front, the staff was friendly, which is always appreciated in any dining establishment.

While this Chinese hand pulled noodle place has potential, it falls short of the standards you might expect from an authentic establishment in china, let alone stand out as a hot spot worth frequenting, but this is dubai.

Overall, my experience at this restaurant was just okay. If you happen to be in the area and are craving noodles, it might satisfy your hunger.

Edit: After the reply from the restaurant I’v decided to change my review to a 1 star.
If you are not ready to handle criticism for running a restaurant with unsafe standards. You shouldn’t be running one. EVERY cook in the kitchen should be wearing gloves as actions such as touching the face could happen unconsciously. I never said the Wok cook was the person who touched the rice in-fact it was the plating cook.

Instead of spending time arguing with customers who spent money at your restaurant and provided you with feedback. Trying investing into improving cleanliness issues and maybe learning some professional mannerisms.

I’ve noticed alarming hygiene issues while sitting in the restaurant. Especially since we’ve just overcome a pandemic, I was surprised basic standards weren’t being followed.
Starting with uncovered chopsticks being left on the table in a holder. Its nice that the restaurant is providing different types of chopsticks based on your comfort but i would recommend asking the customers instead on keeping them exposed.
Second was the chili oil being placed in a open condiment holder for everyone to use rather than a sealed one.
Lastly and most importantly there was a live view of the cooks from which I was able to see that non of them were wearing gloves. In addition to the separating screen being dirty and covered in oil splatter.
The most disgusting thing was witnessing a cook wipe his nose on the back of his hand then proceed to handle my food, touch the grains of rice and all the plates. Not acceptable at all.

This is a major issue and should be dealt with immediately. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant to anyone due to these reasons. Good-luck.

San Wan is a tiny, unassuming restaurant in JLT that serves authentic Shaanxi cuisine. The main event is, of course, the hand-pulled noodles, which are made fresh to order in the open kitchen.

I started my meal with the chicken wontons, which were perfectly cooked and flavorful. The Stir Fried Green Beans were also a good choice, and the Xian Lamb Chinese Burger was delicious. The lamb was tender and flavorful, and the bao was perfectly charred.

However, I was a little disappointed with the Biang Biang Noodles and the Cumin Lamb. The noodles were made well but the dish was a bit bland overall.

I enjoyed my meal at San Wan, but I don't fully agree with the hype. I've been to other places in Dubai that serve hand-pulled noodles with a lot more flavor.

That said, the service at San Wan was excellent, and the portions were very generous. If you're looking for a casual place to enjoy some authentic Shaanxi cuisine, San Wan is a good option.

Amazing place with unique style hand pulled noodles prepared infront of your eyes and served with variety of chop sticks and sauces. Delicious unique taste and recipe. Loved by many. Always crowded. Book your seat beforehand and enjoy your food

Really cute little place with tasty food and really sweet staff. The dried chilli beef (shank) was the star player, and the chilli cucumbers were really tasty, too. The noodle dishes we had were nice but too simple in flavor to my personal taste.
The crispy enoki are a must!

Don't go too late, or you may have to wait to be seated. All food is served quickly, though.

Will definitely be back to try more!
