Wish there were more shops open on the base..the little exchange is good for small necessities..it is what it is and I'm actually grateful for just having something there

Not much to say. It's a safe haven where military folk can go and get drunk as they want without being arrested. Tons of knock off stuff to buy here, totally caveat emptor. The food is okay, but be careful. Not going to say which store to avoid, but understand that hygiene is not a top priority.

Super nice now that it is paved and not just a sand lot. The Filipino fast food joint in the corner is bomb though a little pricey. The wifi even though you have hundreds of people on it still works pretty well. All in all it's a nice place to hang out off the ship.

The best thing I saw after over 45 days at sea. WiFi is a bit slow when people start trickling in. Had a pretty nice new year's celebration there. The mwr did a great job hosting it and providing music and the new year's countdown. Sure I would have rather been home but it made a crummy situation pretty bearable. Also not a bad place to relax especially if you have beer on the pier.

Decent food when things are open. It's a crap shoot when you arrive. Hours are highly dependent on what ships are in port. The food is a little pricey. Hours on the NEX are sub-par and should be extended when ships are in over the weekend. Same goes for the barbershop and MWR on base. Cheapest place for alcohol, but you have to volunteer to keep the bar open.

Beer on the pier. Staff is awesome. Food spots everywhere. Decent wifi. Live music. Game rooms. What else do you need?

MWR is usually awesome seeing this thing up, but careful what you buy from the vendors, they had bed bugs in all the cloth goods. The electronics shop sells obvious knock off items. The wifi never works. The game room fills up entirely too quickly. The dj kept over heating the audio equipment so it would suddenly get quiet. But it's the sandbox. Drinks are cheap and plenty of opportunity to see the same people you've been hanging out with for the past 4 months.
