This motte and bailey castle used to be accessible to the public, but most of it is now closed off (bar on May Day apparently), and only a few elements (such as the outer bailey ditch) are visible from the public footpath. The interpretation panel (like all those around Laxton village) is dirty, in a very poor state of repair, and difficult to read. Although a well-preserved motte and bailey, the lack of access means I would not recommend visiting.

Lovely part of the countryside and well worth a visit. Also good for kids learning about strip field systems at school

Very interesting place, but the paths are in need of clearing and better marking would have given 5 stars
