Great stop off for a comfort break if traveling along A1 accessable from north and south bound junction 51.

Be careful and slow when leaving the car park. Surface at exit appalling and a risk to wheels/suspension. Just fits in with the run down look of the place as noted by others.

Be very careful in the uneven area for cars pulling a trailer or caravan. Also the diffused almost amber lighting of the car park is absolutely not enough, it was so dark I couldn't see what I was stepping on and just hoped for the best getting to the toilet block. Meanwhile in the car park My husband tripped, fell and broke his wrist. If you can't provide safe lighting levels do not claim to be 24 hour services. Even an automated sensor light would be better than nothing. If you MUST stop here ever, take a torch with you.

It gets a 2 star because the Costa was nice.
Do not use the toilets... Use the one in Costa...
The service toilets where dreadful. Poor guy trying to clean the floor. It was very wet and slippy. The toilet was not attached to the wall so very dangerous. Tried another and they all seemed the same.

It is nowhere near the moterway. Very dank. Everything was falling apart and broken.

The Costa was nice tho.

KEEP DRIVING
Stopped for coffee and toilet break at 7.00am
It's very run down and looks on the verge of closing.
We didn't get coffee as one look through the door put us off.
The toilet facilities are very tired (door lock not secure) clean at that time in the morning.
I feel sorry for staff who have to work in this environment.

Avoid unless you have no choice. Rats, sticky tables, semi derelict buildings. I mean come on! Why would you really? It should’ve been closed down 30 years ago. Shocking.

Opened in 1961 twinned with or is the set for crossroads motel as I think this was when the last refresh was, missed the car park and ended going thru McDonald's drive thru after the experience of driving thru the attractions chernobl derelict ghost town . With a stunning display of an Old development as a view of the rotting motel for out Lunch expecting the cast of the walking dead to go by.

Glad we had the misfortune of McDonald's first as exit and drive around again to get into the smallest car park to be transported back the to a land that's been forgotten. When walking past Costa to toilets being outside is when you know this is going to be an experience ( when was the last service station the toilets were outside I thought and couldn't answer)

Glad we drove past as if stopped here first wouldn't of even used to toilets they were that bad next to the closed down ' Motel' (deliveries taken at BP !?? )

Water might of been cold in the toilets, but it could of also done with foot mats as felt that dirty to get back into the car. Walking past again only a Costa open. And that looked uninvited. ( glad never used here as didn't want the delightful experience posted here also for smell and taste)

Resting place sign more like rest in peace as this has got to be the worse service station ever and if there is such a thing dear god I don't know how.

If you’re thinking of using this ‘rest area’ while towing a caravan, be aware that you’re likely to find the only parking is in the ‘overflow’ which is not tarmac and very uneven.
