Great service, meals arrived quick and were great . Big portions and were very tasty. The puddings were amazing. Table of 6 and everyone left very full and happy

Absolutely amazing experience at The Haywain - Caldicot today.
The food was outstanding and the staff were so kind, polite and smashing out their service!
Never had a bad experience there. You can go there with friends and family, for lovely food or just a few of their many verity drinks.
Nothing but great service and smiles when I walk in with my daughter. I can’t fault them in the slightest, ever! Foods always hot and out within a timely fashion, and always eaten with no leftovers!
Rhiannon was the lady who served us, always busting her behind to get everyone served with a smile, and the pub Manager Jane, always smiling having a laugh with her customers and cooking the best food!
Can’t thank you enough, we’ll definitely be back, we love our local!

This place is always a pleasant experience. I've been here for food a few times, it's absolutely delicious and way above normal pub standard food.

We came the other day and it was really busy, the bar staff told us it would probably be up to an hour for food, but that wasn't a problem, we expected to be waiting when we saw how busy it was.

Unfortunately they had ran out of several drinks I asked for which was a little frustrating. The food then arrived and it was alright. I think because of how busy it was they were struggling in the kitchen to keep up and it effected the quality of food. It was a shame as normally the food here is excellent. I'm not saying it was bad but just not up to their normal standards.

However I can't really complain because we had a 50% off main meals, so two of us had large platters that only cost £6 in the end. So despite my slight complaints I would still strongly recommend visiting the Haywain, I'm sure if it's not as busy you'll be pleasantly suprised by the food.

First let me say the staff is very friendly and helpful. They know their beers and alcohol very well. That said, knowing the beers they have in stock shouldn't be difficult because the selection is limited. The atmosphere is quiet, and there are plenty of televised events playing. I can not say anything about the food as I did not order, nor look at a menu.

We had Burger Chips and onion rings .. (and complimentary garlic bread) as a take out and its was the best I have tasted in a long while . We will be popping in for a lunchtime meal soon . Staff are so helpful and courteous and the facilities are spotless

Medium steak was more than well done and my wife's, my diane sauce was tasteless if I wasn't going on a nightshift I would have sent it back I feel like I just ate beef jerky and chips yeah it's cheap but if I cooked that myself I'd have binned it plus there was no rump no peppercorn sauce no pepsi god knows what else it's Monday late afternoon no deliveries? Not the first time but it is the last.
