Great way to travel to the top rather than taking your car (and pay for parking at the top) up to the old observatory.

The tram ride is a wonderful way to admire the beauty of Llandudno Bay and its houses without worrying about the steep incline. The return ticket is / was £10.90 ( in mid July 2023).

If you’ve been to Mt. Pilatus, in Switzerland you’d remember that as a cog-railway. This on the other hand operates by a funicular system and is controlled by winch men and attendants. As there are no engines or brakes in the trams, the word driver would be a misnomer. Each tram car (for want of a better word) is linked to another, which allows it to be pulled up (by the other) using a system of cables cleverly laid between the tracks.

The views are stunning; you go past the old copper mines and along the same roads that are used by vehicles who have to yield for the trams.

You cannot miss this attraction if you are in Llandudno. Carry a raincoat or woollens as it can be very windy and cold on top.

I didn’t buy tickets in advance and only had to wait around 10 minutes. It’s £10.90 return per adult. Lovely tram journey. Very windy at the top but only to be expected at the top of the mountain! Magnificent views. Great park for the kids. Crazy golf, a lovely café with gift shop, visitor, centre, and absolutely breathtaking views towards puffin Island, Llandudno bay and Anglesey. Highly recommended ☺️

If you get a chance to come to Wales you must go in the Great Orme Tramway.
You get to experience the tram just like they have in San Francisco, California.
After hopping on/off 2 trams you'll get to the summit.
The views are Beautiful!

This is amazing experience. Great views...was lovely day in May. Could see for miles ,we went up by tram but people can walk up (if experienced walkers ) or drive up by car,also a touring bus will also take you. Apart from all history, beautiful views, there is a cafe and two gift shops (not over expensive). Well worth a visit in Llandudno.

Tram rides start at 10 am, every 20 mins there was a bit of a queue when we got there but we soon got onto a tram. There are some seats available along the queue system. We got a return in June so about £9.75 an adult return. We were planning on getting tram up hill then cable car down mountain but due to winds cable car didn't run so we got the tram up & down. Small buggies & push chairs allowed on tram but limited storage. 1/2 way up mountain u have to change trams, there was a tram waiting when we got 1/2 way & just a short walk from one tram to the other. Very windy on top of mountain so even on a sunny day best to bring something warm like a jacket or cardigan to pop on. Ice cream, drinks & snacks available to buy at top of Mount & beautiful views, worth a trip. A visitors centre is free to look round, there is also a car park if u prefer to drive up.

Fabulous and affordable, they do take card payments however it does say cash only on the website. Nice way to spend a few hours, views are stunning and facilities at the top are great. Would recommend sitting on the left facing down for the best views on the way up and on the right coming back down if you get chance :)

During a day out in Llandudno, we decided to visit the Great Orme. We have been to the top of the Orme before, but we decided on this visit to use the tram ????. It's not possible to book tickets in advance, we had to buy our ticket at the station. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The tram leaves the station on a 20-minute cycle. The tram has no windows or heating, so if the weather is cold, wrap up. We had to change the tram ???? halfway, which is a smooth process . Overall, we enjoyed our tram ride, and the return trip is very reasonable. It's a nice way to reach the summit without walking ????u200d♂️ up.

Waited an hour in the queue before we could board the tram but expect to queue for longer on sunny days.

The tram ride itself went by quite quickly, but the views were amazing.

Once at the top, there wasn't much to do except to take a few pictures or videos. It was very windy so I would recommend going up on sunnier days.
