You can read in peace or watch some telly with a nice pint for a good price, along with hot pork scratchings.
If you’re an ale drinker like me then unfortunately the selection is almost none existent, just John smiths if I recall, maybe some in bottles but I don’t go to a pub for bottled beer.
Dogs are welcome and loved by seemingly all patrons and the pub garden is clean and well maintained.
The only time I don’t go is Friday and Saturday nights, the crowd that go is a pretty even mix of loud mouth yobbos and people who would really like the loudmouth yobbos to go away. I can’t deal with the volume of those people so just don’t go at these times.
But other than that this pub is quiet, clean, warm and peaceful, the only improvement I can think of is switching out the electric fire with a log burner, though I understand the practical issues with having one.
I truly love this pub and whenever I feel like a drink it’s always my go to.
Highly highly recommended, unless your a loudmouth yobbo, in which case go somewhere else.

One of the regulars walked up to the bar and she went to serve them straight away but despite being told by the regular that I was first she said I could wait plus she had to change the barrel. She served the regular and walked off to change the barrel.
I ended walking out .
