As someone who enjoys spending time outdoors and playing in the park with my kids , I have to say that the Woodlands Park is a great choice for anyone looking for a smaller park experience. While it may not be as expansive as some other parks, it offers a nicely designed and well-maintained space that is perfect for a quick pick-up game of football or a relaxing picnic with friends.

However, as someone who used to visit the park as a child, I can definitely understand the sentimentality of the train that used to be there. It's always disappointing to see something that was an important part of your memories no longer being there. Despite this, there are still plenty of activities to enjoy at Woodlands Park. The playground is a great place for kids to let off some steam, and it's clear that the park is designed with families in mind. The trails are also a great addition, making it easy to explore the woodlands and enjoy the natural scenery.

The one drawback of the park's size is that it can get quite crowded on busy days, which can be frustrating for those looking for some peace and quiet. However, this is a minor issue and one that is common in many public spaces. Overall, I would highly recommend Woodlands Park to anyone looking for a convenient and enjoyable park experience. Despite missing the train from your childhood, there's still plenty of fun to be had in this charming and well-maintained park.

Perfect park for toddlers. Loads of space for them to run around in! It has everything in there that you'd want for a baby playground to be fair. It does get quite busy on days, but that's to be expected when to me, it's probably the best outdoor park in Cwmbran.

A fantastic little local park, with some nice buggy friendly river walks nearby. Definitely great for smaller kids. Gated park is very helpful.
Limited (not always open)/unclean toilet facilites. Used to be a small cafe too, but nothing available now.

What a beautiful park to take under 11 years of age, plenty to play on and gives children lots of fun and plenty of fresh air and exercise, very friendly parents and children ????

Our go to park to walk the dogs. It's got a great park for the kiddo but unfortunately the dogs aren't allowed in. There always seems to be sports going on as well and there's usually a great atmosphere here.

It's just a pleasant circular walk. You meet quite a few people. So if you're looking for a quiet walk. It's not for you. You can walk either way starting from the car park by the Oasis club. If you prefer to walk clock wise then take the little foot bridge following the path along the river which be on your right hand side. Follow the path until you come out by the road turn right when see a car park, this will then take you back to where you started. If you want to double your distance, instead cross the road at the pedestrian crossing and go down the entrance going to the boating lake. Walk to the lake around and back up to the main road and follow the previous instructions or pop to the shops and try sausage beans and chips with a drink at the local fish and chip shop. Take them out and eat them on your way back as there are plenty of benches along the river path. The sound of the river adds to the enjoyment. Well worth it ????
