Taxi driver was incredibly kind to me. I called for a last minute taxi just before 8am, needing to get to the train station for 8:30. I was visibly stressed due to the rush but the driver was calm and swiftly took me to the station, and also managed to get me an electronic receipt.
It's also a nice touch that calling back the number when waiting for your taxi will return 'your driver is X minutes away in X car', this reduces stress and helps know which car to look out for.

Shocking levels of basic politeness. Called to request a cab as we'd unfortunately broken down and I needed to get wife and child home. Was told that they had nothing available for an hour, understandable given it was a Friday at 7:30pm. I asked whether they knew of any other local firms that might be able to assist given the situation and the operator just hung up on me, no attempt to respond. I won't be using them next time I need to book.

In short: pleasant drivers, either plesant or rude operator depending on which one you get. Docking a star because of said rude operator.

I've used this cab company numerous times without a hitch. The price is competitive, and the drivers have always been on time, courteous, with immaculate vehicles. The female operator I've spoken to has always been personable.

However, the male operator I spoke to today was blatantly rude. I'd always spoken to the female operator before. I live at an address that requires spelling out because the road contains a word that sounds identical to another word, and putting in the wrong word might cause confusion, despite the post code. I've even been asked to spell it out before by other cab firms and delivery companies, so now I do it as a matter of course.

This particular operator didn't ask for the spelling, which was fine, but I spelled it out anyway. Upon doing that, he said sarcastically "I can spell, thank you". I tried to explain why I did this, but he didn't apologise, and spoke brusquely for the rest of the call.

I'll continue to use Panther Cabs for the time being, because everything else about them has so far been excellent. However, I suggest this particular operator learn to be a bit more cordial with his customers.

Have used this taxi company for years however I won’t be using them after the service I have received today. Booked a taxi for quarter past 5, rung up at half past as it had not arrived and was told it’s around the corner. Another 10 mins go by and the taxi speeds past my work place so I ring again and get told the driver was waiting for 10 minutes so he left I said sorry no I had full view of the front of my office as I was sat outside on a bench waiting and he drove straight past, I get a monotone insecure apology and told they’ll send out another taxi “asap” as he has gone home now so I said forget it I’ll have to walk home. Wasted nearly an hour of my time for a driver who lies and clearly just wanted to go home. Not good enough.

Would give 0 star if I could. Ordered a minibus in advance (2 days before) for 6am on a Wednesday to catch a 630am train for a holiday, even called again the night before to make sure it was definitely a minibus they will send as there were 5 of us with a LOT of luggage. Then a bog standard taxi pulls up on the day who can only fit half our party into. We obviously explain this is not what we ordered and they arrange for another car to be sent which is 30 minutes later than what was arranged (and half our party miss the train to airport). The other car was absolutely the rudest aggressive/crazy taxi driver I've ever encountered. When we said we were not happy we have to pay for 2 cabs even tho we ordered 1, he started screaming/shouting at the top of his lungs outside colchester station causing such a scene. It was totally absurd. Surely you'd just apologise. Anyway, he made us pay for both & we are currently disputing it with Panther. The guy needed a mental health check, as he wasn't well & was unhinged.

I'm quite surprised to see the poor reviews. I've been using this service for the past 4 years, 2-3 times a year when I return to the UK to visit my parents in Marks Tey. I have never experienced a problem with booking a taxi. It has always turned up when requested and the drivers are always polite, respectful and helpful.
I have to give credit where it's due.

Absolutely fantastic service! Got the wrong train to Stansted and ended up in Colchester, needing a miracle to catch my flight. Panther got me there safely and comfortably, almost embarrassingly early, completely saving the day. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Booked a taxi for 1:15pm which they told us was all good and we could have our taxi then. Got to 1:20 and the taxi hadn’t turned up so I gave them a call and they hadn’t actually found us a taxi and didn’t think of letting us know when we had a train to catch. Definitely won’t be using again.
