What a unique find. Located about 3 miles South of Oban this is quietly one of Scotland's most important religious locations. From the 6th century it has been a place of worship & pilgrimage for drovers and early Christians from Ireland. The Alexander II came here after he was crowned King of Scotland in 1214...later in the 1700's, the site became the burial grounds for the Clan MacDougall led by Dark John , Iain Cair a Jacobite sympathiser in 1715.

This is not a tourist hot spot but it's a must visit and even better if you get to meet Liam the site owner & curator.

Stunning historical site, with an amazing tour from the owner of the site, a lovely man with many great stories and a beautiful singing voice! The tour gave true colours to the view into the past that this site grants visitors. Came here all the way from the Netherlands and highly recommend it to anyone in the area looking to dive into local history.

Beautiful views, fantastic and easy to follow QR trail. Had also a wonderful meeting and live history lesson from the lovely owner!

Beautiful spot rich in history. Liam has all you need to know about the people laid to rest here and the committee are working hard to preserve this important part of Scottish history.

Lovely little historic village, well looked after by the locals with some interesting stories and information to read as you walk around the church etc.
Worth a look in if you're passing, or on a walk through the countryside

Fascinating relic of the McDougall clan. Peaceful spot for reflection on times past.
