You can’t see well underwater because the water mostly cancels the focusing effect of the eye lenses.

A lens is formed by having a curved surface between two media of different refractive index. A drop of water makes a lens, because of the different refractive index of water vs. air. A sheet of water does not make a lens, because although it has different refractive index, it isn’t curved.

The lenses in our eyes are basically drops of water. (With a membrane around it, to keep their curved shape, and have the water stay in.)

When you are underwater with naked eyes, then the front part of the eye lens does not have different refractive indices anymore.Both the lens inside and outside lens are essentially water… hence, that part of the lens doesn’t focus the light anymore. And thus, your eyes don’t work as well anymore. (It can only partly correct for this, by bending the lens more)

When you put swimming goggles on, you remove the water and again have air in front of your eye lenses, and they work normally. Obviously, you have created an extra interface between water and air at the front of your swimming goggles. However, this surface is flat. And thus is doesn’t function as a lens, only as a window.

We enjoyed the service at the center ..

They were really supportive and responsive .. Proper information were given before our dives .. Great flexibility during our dive departure .. The dive master was well skilled and our boat captain was amazing.. Even after the dives the great service continued, they helped us with cleaning our personal equipments and we received our pictures and videos on the same day ..

Thanks for the great experience definitely going to come back when I visit again ..

It was an amazing experience. They charged AED 450/- but it’s worth every minute. First they will take you in a boat for 30mints, which itself is superb. Then the instructor will give all training’s and then will do the Scuba for 30-45mints depending on your ability to stay clam in water. Safety is there 1st priority. I loved it and it’s very cheap. Had good view of Corel’s and experienced natural Marine life

We had a team diving session with Barracuda Diving Center and it was totally worth the money. The instructors were super helpful - we were total noobs but they made sure we have the ultimate diving experience. They took some great videos for us as well! Definitely coming back for more dives.

We had an amazing experience with Barracuda Diving center today! The staff is very nice and patient with us and with our children. Do not hesitate to discover the scuba diving with Barracuda Diving Center.

The barracuda team made our first scuba dive so easy! They took care of everything while we (family with kids 10+12 yrs) just focused on diving and enjoyed the underwater world. Behind the friendly, funny and relaxed attitude is a professional, experienced and well equipped team. Thank you very much! We would love to come back.

We had a wonderful time with Lahiru, he is very patient and professional, we did two dives in the afternoon, the second dive was wonderful, a lot of corals and fishes but the visibility might be better if it was in the morning.

Horrible customer service, that's before even get to the diving course it's self ????... I send a message In what's app asking for info about the diving course, my messages replied with( how can I help you?) I just asked how can you help me!!!!! So I called AFTER 30 MINUTES and said the same .. the telephone operator said it's an auto message and I will send you the info, I said ok fine.. I was waiting for ANOTHER 30 MINUTES, then no one send me anything.. why should I wait for an hour for an info will take probably 30 seconds to be sent to someone??!! Then I called again, I said Miss, do you know the info or you don't?? The lovely telephone operator said in a hard time( SIR IM BUSY WITH ANOTHER CLIENTS I WILL TEXT YOU BACK THE INFO) first it was an hour ago since my first inquiry,
Secondhand (I'm busy I will text you back is something you say to your boyfriend not to a potential client). If you are busy with a client, you should have said it at the first message instead of ignoring my messages, or at least send the info that I will take 30 seconds
