What a surprising visit! Our travel plans were canceled when we arrived in Newton Abbot so instead of waisting the trip I found this museum on Google and decided to walk in the rain to it. It was a lot of fun for the kids with a ton of history on the town and the rail line. I recommend taking the time to check it out as we spent a good deal of time looking and reading. They have interactive games and history hunts for the kids as well.

Lovely little museum full of local history. Nice clear interesting displays with some interactive exhibits. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and free to enter. Recommended.

Small but well presented local museum situated in a renovated church at Newton Place. It is a short walk from the town centre and a local council pay and display car park is adjacent.
The book of condolence was here to sign prior to the Queen's funeral,
The museum featured very interesting local history and ex GWR railway items on display including signals and a lever frame from Newton Abbot West Junction signal Box.
Local books and souvenirs were available as well as a reception desk and toilets.
There is no charge for entry however there is a donation box if you wish to help the museum upkeep.

Well worth calling in to see this museum. Interactive and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Free. Converted church.

Cannot recommend enough. I went with a friend and our toddlers and they were so entertained. Lots of interactive activities. Will definitely return. They had a lovely time. And the lady was so informative and friendly. Engaged with us lots.

We really enjoyed this museum, beautifully restored and laid out well, informative and interesting. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Will be going back.......

A really lovely place to visit which has lots of information about Newton abbot. Also has a few fun activities for the kids to do. Spent a lovely hour here looking around. Would visit again.

Well.worth a visit.
So much local history.
Thanks to Lottery funding, the transformation of the old St Leanords Church is wonderful.
Interactive for young children too !!
