One of those new country parks created from old mining works, so it hasn't had a chance to form or mature. What is there is lovely and plenty of walks, paths and long reaching views from the top. I had the place to myself on a Sunday afternoon which is rare these days. Car park is free but there is a height barrier, so anyone who doesn't drive a car or bike has to park outside or find another country park! I can't believe the moronic people who visit these places and not only let there dog run through the pond and reeds scaring the moorhens to death, but also hang there dogs faeces from trees in bags for everyone to view! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU if you do this?
SYOP IT. TAKE YOUR DOG SHEET HOME.

A hidden gem .. what a lovely place to go for a walk. We take our dogs and they just love it.

Seems this hidden gem will remain so as very few reviews. Free car parking (a rarely found thing these days) and great well laid out paths to wander round the sculpture trail. Deserted on the three occasions I’ve been running there during my holiday. Great view point.

Nice place for a walk.
Took the dog for a walk 2.4 miles walking the while perimeter. Free parking too

Sadly no facilities other than parking..There is another small car park further along toward Whaley. Good position for the park. A short walk toward Shirebrook brings you to a housing estate where the pathway ends. You can walk toward Creswell but you have to leave and walk along the road before you arrive at another walkway where you can either rejoin the old railway line for a short distance or walk toward Elmton or Creswell Crags via the busy A616. Pity its not all linked up.

Lovely little country park with easy to follow trails and a stunning view from the top of the hill. Wildflowers and wildlife abundant.
