We rented e-bikes for a day of cycling Oban, and it was so wonderful and fun! The staff were great, we had no issues with the bikes, and we had a blast. If you want to see Oban and get up to the castles and other local attractions, rent a bike from Oban Cycles. It made our day such a fun adventure.

My bike had a massive mechanical issue part way through a tour.
Oban Cycles had what I needed in stock and although they didn't have the time to fix it (to be expected, I was catching another ferry that afternoon) I was able to borrow a few tools and do the work myself in their alleyway.
Great service and both of the staff I interacted with were super friendly!

We rented from Oban Cyclery to go on a fabulous trek through the Outer Hebrides. Bikes were great. Christina was responsive and helpful throughout the planning stages and right up until we returned the bikes. We highly recommend!!

Absolute lifesaver. Fixed my bike (axle thread on front fork) which meant I could get the ferry and not miss my holiday. Very friendly service and a bargain price too. Highly recommended!

He had no time to repaîr my bike. But he took the time to have a look at It, put bike oil, and for free.
After that, no noise from the chain

Bike fit was fantastic, I have noticed a big improvement in my average speed and am very comfortable on the bike now.
He was friendly and really new his stuff.
I would definitely recommend.

Excellent service and great advice. They even let us use their workshop so we could put some front panniers on our tandem. We can't thank you enough, you made it possible for us to continue our tour of the islands. We went to Mull, Iona and Islay after our stop in Oban.

Shocked at being shouted at by the Oban bike shop owner for the second and last time.

I’d left my bike and said to his colleague I’d bring in the parts as I’d bought them in Brighton. He’d fixed it and provided new parts I didn’t want. He wouldn’t even let me see it till I’d paid and when I said that I had agreed I’d bring the parts in he shouted at me that he was going to charge me £25 a week storage charge.

Not doable after the event! He then started saying I expected special service as I’d arrived at 9.45. I didn't know he doesn’t open till 10 but he had given me my bike at 9.55am. I’d been quite happy to send a few emails till they were open.

Last time I was in, he’d shouted at me to get out because I had a lanyard not mask - he said he doesn’t know or care what the lanyards are for. So I said I’d buy my new handles elsewhere - no, he’d put on new handles that weren’t even what I'd wanted.

Most small businesses in this town give really good service but it’s terrible that some like him, think because he is the only bike shop in town he can treat customers any way he likes. He could have simply apologised for the misunderstanding and we could have worked something out. The guy who works for him with a pony tail has always been nice. The owner even had another complaint - that I keep taking my bikes to him. Most shop owners would be happy that I've been getting all 3 of my bikes serviced and repaired by him. Not any more.

Apparently others have been chased out of his shop with an invisible disability lanyard or for other reasons - all never to return.

One very annoyed ex customer here. Someone said that there is a new guy fixing bikes in town? I’ll go to him or a city bike shop that knows how to treat customers.
