We were hiking the highland way and stayed here for one night. We absolutely loved this place. It was the best place we stayed on the hike. The owners are incredibly welcoming and it felt like visiting old family. The owners were incredibly friendly and generous and offered lots of great advice.

Also the breakfast portions were huge! Definitely go for the oats though as they were delicious.

One thing to remember if you visit. This is not a hotel this is a bnb and also their home. You’re going to get the warm hospitality of their home but it should not be treated like a chain hotel it’s far better than that.
Lots of free snacks and drinks in the room. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

We arrived at Clifton cottage after an exhilarating long and muddy day. We too felt like arriving in a home away from home- kind and thoughtful and gracious- Carmen doing our washing felt magical having clean and dry clothes to re-energize us for the way ahead. Great wifi - coffee tea and lovely snacks in the room with a large and delicious breakfast - hope you are lucky enough to stay here!

Carmen and Tom are the most generous and accommodating hosts we've ever met. They literally couldn't do enough to take care of us. They even had an anniversary gift waiting for us in our room when we checked in. It genuinely felt like home away from home. We felt very fortunate and spoiled during our stay. We will definitely come back again.

A warm welcome from our hosts when we arrived after a wet day's walking on the West Highland Way. The room was very comfortable, a variety of complimentary refreshments and a hot shower. A good night's sleep in a comfortable bed all followed by an excellent and generous breakfast. The biggest bowls of porridge we had ever seen along with a tasty cook breakfast of our choice. All truely excellent stay. Plus our wet boots had been dried for us. Thanks

We arrived at clifton cottage on the last day of the West highlands way walk. This was an outstanding place with the most amazing hosts who could not do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble, they are kind and caring and enjoying sharing their beautiful home with guests.
Breakfast was fantastic, tasty and plentiful with quality ingredients.
We slept so well in comfortable beds listening to the silence of the beautiful surroundings and left with full tummies.
A beautiful place with beautiful people. We will be booking again.

The hosts were really lovely, couldn't do enough for us. Smallish room but comfortable with a fridge full of lots of free drinks. We were up very early the next day to do a long section of the WHW but Carmen was up, did a great breakfast and gave us food to take with us. So kind!

My partner and I booked last minute to avoid the midges! We were welcomed from the moment we pulled into the drive. They couldn’t have done more for us and even gave us an energy bar and Scottish rock to take with us for our day of walking. The beds were comfy, the bathroom for clean and the breakfast was wonderful. Such nice people. Highly recommend staying here!

Tom and Carmen gave us a warm welcome showed us to our room.
It's beautifully presented very clean fresh
Small fridge with cold drinks chocolate biscuits fresh milk was provided when we arrived. Lots of tea and coffee. Nice coffee.
All complimentary bathroom very clean and fresh.window has a screen so you can leav window open. Louvered wooden blinds all very clean and new.the room is warm and comfortable. More beding if required nicely decorated. Location. It's less tha 200 meters from the green welly shop and hotel.
10 out of 10. Will definitely stop here again.
