Great car hire company. Would definitely recommend them to anyone considering hiring a car on Mull. The owner Billy and his wife Nikki where very friendly, polite and helpful. Genuine and honest people.
We would happily hire a car from them again on any future visits to Mull

A very bad experience... I rented a car from Billy McClymont's Mull car hire several days before arriving in Craignure. After proceeding to booking and initial payment for a 24h rental, I was expected a mail of confirmation, none came. I called back, the company indeed realised the mail was not working but did not bother calling.

I showed up to pick up the car, but no one was there. After 45 mn wait, 7 unanswered calls, and calling an alternate number I finally got a call. The rental had been cancelled without notice. Sure, the person on phone told me he tried to call me but the absence of missed called on my iPhone tells me otherwise, not even a voice mail. Not even a call on the morning of the rental day. I was just waiting for nothing.

The thing is, on Mull, there's not many ways of going around. Only an overly expensive bus, which hours do not coincide with a Sunday morning Ferry if you're leaving from Calgary. This cancelled rental car had ruined our week end, and the rental company barely bothered with a clear apology, no commercial gesture, no replacement car, no help. By far, the worst car renting experience I've ever had.

Do not rent from them. Rent on the mainland, you'll save yourself some troubles and money.

3 days later, still no refund.
