What a beautiful place. It's a difficult way by car with very narrow roads but certainly worth it. Some hike to get there. Either way, it's totally worth it. The views from the foot of the lake are breathtaking. The seclusion of the place, and the lack of touristic attractions, make it an ideal place for those who seek for peace of mind, while seeing amazing views

With room for about 8 motorhomes or 10 cars in the car park you need to time it right to get a place as it's a long drive to find it's full up. The scenery is spectacular there and people camp out on the grass as well. Beautiful place with deer roaming about.

About a 10 mile drive in to the car park, single track with passing spots for the road in. But the views were beautiful and at the end by the car park everything opens up to a gorgeous setting. Also saw a few of the famed friendly deer and got some great picture. Plenty of people camping in different spots, but not too busy during our shoulder season visit in early May. That said, I could see this being tougher to get to during the summer busy season, so be advised.

Glen Etive is the favourite area of the Western Highlands for my wife and myself. It's increasing ruggedness and remoteness as you drive the 12 miles or so through the Glen provide both a peacefulness and dramatic beauty at every turn and swell over a hill. Arriving at the top of the loch (at the car park area) and wandering down to the loch side provides the icing on the cake (or the snow on the mountain peaks, if you are lucky enough!). The return journey - though back along the same winding and hilly narrow road - opens up different but no less dramatic views of the meandering river and surrounding mountains. PS: the fact that Bond's Skyfall movie happened to have had a few seconds of scene (with Daniel Craig, Judy Dench + Aston Martin) filmed about a third of the way down the Glen road, hopefully will not mean this amazing little piece of Scotland doesn't become a daft tourist attraction.

The drive towards this is about 6 mile from the turn off but its totally worth it, we managed to get down that way easy due to leaving early but heading back was a different story, lots of cars and trucks but many passing places dotted along the track.
