I booked this hotel for me and my guests for the night before and the night of my wedding at Skylark. I told people on the phone and at check-in that it was for a wedding, and that me and my bridesmaids would be staying in one of the family rooms one night, then on the second night me and my husband would be staying in that room. I asked them to make sure the room was cleaned and sheets changed as different people would be staying in the room on the second night. Both on the phone and at check-in I was told that was fine, however this was not done. The sheets were not changed and there was still rubbish in the room. The floor was covered in dust (both nights) which made it very difficult when trying to get ready as I did not want any of my wedding stuff covered in dust. A few days before my visit a lady called and asked if I wanted to book breakfast, I said I wanted to see how I felt on the day and asked if room service was available. She said yes. When I checked in I asked when room service started and was told 9am, I then explained that as Bridesmaids would be getting hair and make up done at that time, that wouldn’t work for us, I asked when breakfast started and was told 7am and we could have it in our room. I then spoke to a different person later on who said no, we couldn’t have breakfast in our room, meaning we then didn’t have breakfast. I looked everywhere for a number to call reception from the room, and could not find one. I had to constantly send bridesmaids down to get buckets of ice to keep our drinks cold. Lastly, when I got back from my wedding, I go to enter my door and the key card would not work. I had to walk all the way back out, over to the Solent Hotel, in my wedding dress and queue at a reception that had no one on it. For the price of this hotel I expected much better customer service and feel that I was absolutely ripped off with the price of the hotel. I think an Ibis budget would have been better.

The staff are outstanding and just really lovely helpful people. We bought our dog they provided a bed, bowls and a towel for him. The walks around the lodge were perfect for us and the rooms were cleaned to a high standard. I love the smell of fresh bed linen felt like a home away from home. A wonderful place to stay. THANK YOU

Rooms clean, basic and spacious. Only one towel for a 2 person stay. Free tea/coffee in room. Plenty of free parking outside. Quick and free WiFi. Lifts available for Upper rooms. Attached to pub , but not noisy. Check in was in the pub, where its seemed like an annoyance to the busy bar staff. Ideally located near Whiteley shops and M27

Nice room. Wax clean and quiet and got a good night's sleep. Parking out front and close to shops and motorway.
Only gripe was one towel given for a room. Check in was as absolute basic as it gets. Check out time? Who knows.

A bit disappointed with our stay. The air conditioner was broken in the room and we were told that "maintenance were aware" but certainly no solution suggested. The fan in the bathroom ran all night did not automatically shut off. It looked like someone had fought with a bottle of bleach in the corridor and the room itself, with large sections of carpet chemically disintegrating and bleached white. The tv did not receive any channels that we could watch. Just digital noise. A plate of food that we bought was not cleared with the room cleaning team and remained in the room for the duration of the stay.

I probably wouldn't go back.

Hotel room was great for the price. Comfy bed, great shower and clean. Only negative was that although breakfast was nice, we weren’t told when it was when we checked in and it’s not written anywhere that we could find. If you pay for a cooked breakfast you have to pay on top for a continental breakfast (even if you want toast with your English breakfast).

Did not stay at the Lodge but the service at the Restaurant Parsons Collar was absolutely disgusting. Was told there would be 30 min wait for food. 45 mins later, still no food even though other people had been served. Manager lied and said they said there would be a 45 min wait. Theres no way we would have waited that long if they said that in the first place as we had work to go back to. He refused a refund or to give his name replying “I haven’t got a name” and shrugged his shoulders. I got told there was no one above him I can complain to. Been a member of the adjacent gym Solent Hotel for nearly 2 years and the service from the restaurant was so disappointing.

Love this place. Modern bright room so comfy all you need. Dogs slept well. Great location for Visiting the local area ????????????
