Unique experience, naturally beautiful with a mystical atmosphere. We went on a wet Monday morning and had the place to ourselves. Breathtaking!

Amazing place. Longer walk from the car park than I imagined and quite an uphill climb but well worth it. Truly a unique place. It is quite muddy at the bottom but there are stepping stones, I'd certainly take wellies next time. Can imagine it would be very muddy after rain.

This is one of my favourite places in the Peak District. It is a mystic place with a very singular beauty. All that nature covering the walls of the chasm is just breathtaking.
The entrance for the Lud's Church could be easily missed, as there are no actual signs at the entrance, but there are some wooden barriers, so look for them when you are walking on the path.
The surrounding forest itself is very unique, seems from a fairy tale. It has plenty of trails to explore.
We have spent 3 hours in this nature reserve, between Lud's Church and going up to the roaches and I have absolutely loved it.
It is recommended to visit at the end of the day preferably during the week, as it is less crowded.
Highly recommended.

A great place for a walk, but it is very popular not our normal quiet country walk. A choice of routes to walk with some truly spectacular sights and views. Well worth taking a change of footwear as it was boggy in places even though it had been dry for a few days.

We stumbled upon this during our walk around the peaks but it can be easily accessible via parking at The Mill and a short uphill walk. Thought to be created when the devil scrapped back his finger on the way to hell but really just a geological adventure. Safe for kids accompanied by an adult enjoy the ups and downs of the muddy path then through Gradbach woods. Worth a visit but no picnic spots for the warmer months

absolutely a must see! stunning scenery and a steady walk. Its a circular route so i recommend parking up and following signs. will definitely be visiting again

the place is very beautiful, the trail is approximately 1 hour, but impossible, because you need to stop all the time to take pictures and enjoy the view!

First time visiting and already making plans to return. Wow. Just wow. The photos don’t do it justice. You have to visit. Small car park gets full quick. There’s added parking for £5 all day and a farm further up. All sign posted. You can make this walk easy or expert depending on the route you pick. And the big rocks you come too are equally as good for sitting at and taking in the views. But this isn’t luds church, that’s still a little walk passed up the hill.
