Great place to visit is accessible to most abilities of hiking. Can be great for a picturesque view and some snaps

What a beautiful area the manifold Valley is, the manifold trail is a flat former train line, with access to the cave from it. This cave has a steep entrance to it and a steep climb up to it from the manifold trail. Sensible footwear is a must, don't try and climb where you can't, we saw mountain rescue wasting their time rescuing a silly person , last time we were there, as they tried to go somewhere they shouldn't in flip flops!! There is an info board at the bottom by the trail. Park at Wetton Mill and walk from there. Cafe and toilets at Wetton Mill. Please please take your rubbish with you so we don't have to pick it up like we did last time we visited, really ruined our day, don't be a tosser use a bin or use your own bin.

Very slippery even when dry so be prepared to slide down, but worth the effort for sure!!! Relatively easy walk to the cave, not much parking but we went in the evening so was quiet. Bit of a trek to get to the top above the cave but, again, worth it for the views.

Had a wonderful time walking up to Thor's cave. Walk can be a bit slippery when muddy and wet but was generally pretty easy. It was also quite slippy in the cave. After the cave we walked up to the top which had some great views of the surrounding area. Would recommend wearing shoes with some grip to make the walk a bit easier ????

One of the best places for mountain crazy people and also for forest loving ones. My advice would be to visit the cave on a weekday and avoid weekends because the crowd takes the fun out of it. Dense forest, unpaved and uneven path in the forest leading to the cave. We visited on a weekday around 3(ish) in afternoon and there was not single soul in the forest except for us. Only a few people already up the mountain and in the cave

Parking: Yes (Free)
Advice: Suitable shoes/Trainers, an extra pair of clothes (in case you're caught in rain), and extra pair of shoes too.. (Trust me, speaking out of experience), some snacks and water/drinks, and please take a carrier bag for trash; don't just throw it. It's a great natural location, don't ruin it with your trash

A cave for sure however it's very busy with tourists and climbers a lot of rubbish hidden around the cave. Could be very dangerous in the wet as the rocks are very slippy. Not marked very well and be prepared for a steep walk up to the cave entrance.

Wow, what a place this is. Steep walk up but worth it. It was busy but enjoyed watching people attemp to get in the cave. Wear proper grippy footwear if I was you. The floor in the cave, the shiny worn bits can be slippy.
